We had cold and snowy weather, but enjoyed time by the fire and watching the mule deer that congregated in the yard. "I loved the forest access. It was a huge bonus for me. I also loved how close it was to all the other hiking areas and cloudcroft/Alamagordo. Another bonus is hpw dark it gets at night and how little light pollution there is whoch allows to see stars. Even better, the forest was accessible at night which gave way to all kinds of great opportunities for astrophotography. Excellent place. The cabin was nice and comfortable and kept me warm and dry and had plenty of hooks, table tops, and racks to...

"The host was super attentive. The house itself is a little off the beaten path, which was exactly what we were looking for. There's an outdoor firepit, and indoor wood burning stove with firewood available for use. The beds are comfortable, and TVs in each room. If I go back to the Ruidoso area again, I will definitely try to stay here again."

"We loved the cabin and the location! We brought our pets and the area was very nice to walk them in. My only complaint is how loud the upstairs can be. Any step or movement from the upstairs neighbors would shake the house, which was really bothersome at night. Other than that, everything was perfect."
