"This place looks as of it uses to be a big deal, today it is rather worn out, with a bit of a "paranormal movie" spirit - especially in the basement department, but also on the main floor. This is to some extent also the case for the resturant/pool area, where the sauna, some of the toilets and dressing rooms are in a sad state. The pool itself appeared nice, and the fitness as well. However many locals kids and families use the pool, meaning there is a lot of noise as the whole village is...

"Our stay at Tranquilo Lodge was an absolute dream. Sebastien and Christophe are the most amazing hosts. Sebastien helped us plan out the best 4-5 day itenerary and was always around to help with anything we needed during our stay. The grounds are beautiful and maintained well and the view from the pool is absolutely stunning. The serving staff Cristina and Alex were so friendly and attentive. "We stayed 5 nights at Hotel Margarita. We had them (Alberto) book our tours and found that if you pay cash (dollars or colones) you save some money on your tours. We did the snorkeling (well worth the money!) - 4 different snorkeling stops, an island stop and a wonderful lunch at a local restaurant.
