Blot 5 til 10 minutters gang til Swanages Blue Award Award Winning Beach, Victorian Pier og Steam Railway, kunstgallerier, restauranter, barer og pubber, lader vi vores meget elskede hjem over sommerferien.

Fem minutters gang fra hoveddøren bringer dig til Townsend Nature Reserve og Durlston National Park, der er kendt som et område med enestående naturskønhed, der fører til Jurassic Coast Cliff Walks, Durlston Castle og Fyret.

Vi har 3 soveværelser, 2 lyse dobbeltværelser (et med fantastisk udsigt over Swanage Bay og Purbeck Hills) begge med forfængelighedsenheder og den mindre tredje med fuld størrelse køjesenge med udsigt over Swanage Bay og Purbeck Hills. Der er et åbent stort køkken / spisestue / familieværelse med dobbeltdøre, der fører til balkon og yderligere udsigt over Swanage Bay og Purbeck Hills. Trapper, der fører ned til overdækket opholdsområde og grill.
Hyggelig voksen lounge til at slappe af i, når yngre sover, med 50 tommer tv og voksent spiseområde. I det store åbne køkken / alrum er der et stort 50 tommer fladskærms-tv, stor komfur og 5 kogeplader og vaskemaskine. Fuldt flisebelagt badeværelse med power shower over bad, håndvask og toilet. Separat toilet og håndvask ovenpå. Sengetøj og håndklæder leveres (kun til brug i lokalerne).

Off road parkering, sideport, der fører til et sikkert overdækket område til cykler / kajak / kano / sejlads / vandreture osv.

En virkelig fabelagtig bekvem beliggenhed kun 10 minutters gang fra alle de attraktioner og bekvemmeligheder, som vores fantastiske kystby har at byde på, mens vi er væk fra byens travlhed.

Der findes forskellige bådture til Brownsea Island, Poole, omkring den lokale kystlinje I. Den gamle Harry Rocks, fisketure, både lokalt makrellfiskeri og videre ud til sødagens leje osv. Forskellige dykkerskoler på molen.
Ekstremt godt (så det siges os) og maleriske Purbeck Golfklub, som er åben for offentligheden, der er andre golfklubber i området, der også er åbne for offentligheden. For de mindre erfarne golfspillere er der skør golf til børnene i byens centrum.

Området er ekstremt populært blandt mountainbikere, der er en rigtig god cykelbutik bogstaveligt talt rundt om hjørnet, han er meget involveret i alle lokale cykelbegivenheder, se ham op, Charlie the Bikemonger. Han lejer også cykler ud og har et værkstedsteam til at fastsætte alle niveauer af cykel.

Lokal dagligvarebutik kun 2 minutter ad vejen åben tidligt indtil sent 7 dage om ugen.

Beliggenhed! Vi er midt i Purbecks Jurassic Coast, et fredet område med Natural Outstanding Beauty. Alt lige uden for døren fra Townsend Nature Reserve (5 minutter op ad bakken) til Durlston Head, hvor det storslåede fyrtårn ligger, så kan du enten tage kyststien til Dancing Ledge og videre til Worth Matravers, hvor du finder det berømte torv og kompas pub, dette er en virkelig uspoleret traditionel pub med udsigt over havet, det er meget rustikt med en serveringsluge, tønder øl bag luge, en bred cider-menu, kager på en papirplade, kun tilgængelig mad. Der er ingen frugtmaskiner, poolbord, tv'er, juke bokse - og kun kontanter! Det har også et fossilmuseum.

Et andet dejligt sted at besøge er Scott Arms i Kingston med sin fantastiske udsigt over haven over Corfe Castle, de har et godt madrømme og har også ofte en udvendig Jerk Shack madbar.

Der er selvfølgelig Corfe Castle selv, du kan tage Swanage Steam Train til dette.
I nærheden er der også Durdle Door og Lulworth Cove at besøge.

Hvis du drejer til venstre fra fyret mod Durlston Castle, tager det dig tilbage til Swanage via The Downs.

Hvis du rejser videre mod Sandbanks gennem Studland er der miles af rolige uspolerede strande i National Trust.
Du kan også rejse videre til Sandbanks, Poole og Bournmouth via Chain Ferry (kun kontanter).
Et absolut fabelagtigt sted at spise eller et glas vin er Shell Bay Restaurant og Bar ved siden af færgen - det tilbyder en fantastisk udsigt (se foto).

Vores hjem har fantastisk udsigt over bugten og Purbeck Hills og er i gåafstand til Swanage, du behøver ikke nødvendigvis at tage bilen.

Vores hjem er lige ved High St, så du ikke får den sene aften lyde fra folk 'slentre hjem'.

To minutter ad vejen er vores vidunderlige lokale pub (The Black Swan), der serverer lækker mad (selvom det er bedst at booke, da de får meget travlt). Det er også en meget god kinesisk take away lige rundt om hjørnet.

Der er selvfølgelig et valg af fish and chips butikker.

Der er også en dejlig gammel stenkirke og Mølldam lige ned ad bakken.

Bemærk, hvis der er nogen ulykker, er der et hyttesygehus lige bogstaveligt rundt om hjørnet, men det er ikke et hospital 24 timer i døgnet.
Vi har vores eget 'private anneks', som vi bruger her og der, men dette indskrænker ikke vores gæsters privatliv på nogen måde. Vi har vores egen adgang osv. Plus soveværelse / køkken / brusebad / stue / balkon.

The house was fabulous. Has everything a family could possibly need. Situated in the pretty old part of Swanage. Had lots of amenities near by, beach, shops, train station, restuarants and pubs. All within walking distance. Its up a steep hill if walking but parking for 2 cars was no problem. Some of the furniture in the garden was missing but not sure if this was due to owners being called away unexpectedly. I would definately recommend this property. The best holiday home we have stayed in.

David and Francis were great hosts they sent us links that we could see what was going on in the surrounding areas. We were very lucky that the weather was brilliant i think we had a drop of rain on one day. The house was a good size and gave us plenty of options so we could just sit and chill. We highly recommend this let and we would consider staying here in the future.

Short walk to beach ( up hill on the way back ), shops , restaurants and local walks. Very spacious property, comfortable beds, good shower and well equipped kitchen. Lovely views , great location to explore local area. You can leave the car and walk local. Swanage is a super seaside town which has kept plenty of charm.

A really lovely stay. The views are magnificent and indoors there are plenty of areas to sit and relax in. A terraced garden also with multiple choices of seating areas .. there is a bench table in the garden, we had breakfast on the patio table on the balcony and also my daughter and I had an evening wine on the high stools & table looking over the sea and Ballard down. A short walk to the town & not too much uphill on the way back. Would recommend.

A well equipped property with plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 children. Ideal location for the town, beach and amenities of Swanage. The one drawback is the parking issue with that particular area of Swanage. We had 2 vehicles, one of which we were able to park on the drive of the property. Our other car had to be parked about 400m away out of sight from the property. All available on the road parking was occupied all week. Apart from that issue, though, we had a wonderful time in Swanage

Plenty of living space and a nice outdoor area, WC upstairs was small, this is a typical experience with the older homes in Swanage so not a negative reflection in any way. The decked balcony was a highlight with views over Swanage bay. A short walk from Swanage center and beach. Just outside the center so getting out of Swanage for other attractions was easy. The detailed guide is provided by the hosts. An issue with damage was highlighted after exit, but all were resolved with pleasant and friendly interactions. Location-wise for our needs, this property was bang on. Parking does look like it would be an issue with the two cars we had, however, this was not the case with on-street and off-street options within a short walk.

We cannot recommend this property highly enough! It was exactly as advertised, spotlessly clean and the most well-equipped place we've ever stayed in. Prior to arrival the communication was excellent and included lots of information about where to visit. Fantastic location only 5 mins walk into town with amazing views from the back garden and master bedroom. Can't wait to return!

Francess and Dave are great hosts. They showed us round the property when we arrived and there was a very generous gift basket. As explained in the listing, this is their house (they stay in the annex, but happened to be away for the whole time we were there - apart from greeting us). The massive benefit of this is the property has real soul and is not just a magnolia-walled, Ikea-filled money maker for someone. We loved the creative use of old champagne corks! The house is immaculately maintained, and very well equipped - we took advantage of Sky Q and Netflix more than the balcony and garden as the weather was changeable while we were visiting, to say the least! It was a fantastic place for our three adults and two young kids (5 and 7). A great base for exploring Swanage - 10 minutes walk to the sea front. We also went to Corfe Castle, Kimmeridge Bay, Studland, Brownsea Island, Putlake Adventure Park and made use of the Bay View swimming pool which was 4 mins drive. We strongly recommend the Pier Cafe, Clavells for a treat (in Kimmeridge) and Castaways for a family meal.

We had a lovely week staying in this property. The location is excellent! Walking distance to the beach and town of Swanage and lots of other great beaches and attractions only a short drive away. The property itself was ideal for us and our 3 children. The sea view from the balcony at breakfast was a bonus as was the under cover sofas and fairy lights outside. The owners were very welcoming and they left lots of little extra’s you wouldn’t normally expect from a holiday home like laundry and wash up stuff, toilet rolls etc and a welcome basket! Thank you we have a lovley week away!

We loved our stay at this fantastic property. "Bay View" is in a superb location in Swanage-within walking distance to the centre of town, all shops and local amenities, as well as the beach and nearly cliff walks . The house was perfect for our family of 5 (3 teenagers). It was big enough for everyone to have their own space but the kitchen area was a super family space which we used the most- especially with easy access to the garden, decking balcony and the beautiful view of Swanage Bay which the house benefits from. The lobby area was a great space for storing walking boots and sandy footwear and bags after a long day out. The master bedroom holds a wonderful view to wake up to each morning. All the rooms were spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Frances and David were fantastic hosts. From the beginning of the booking process right through to the end of our stay, they were excellent communicators and made every effort to get to know us as a family without ever being intrusive at all. The welcome basket which was personalised was a lovely touch as we walked through the door and it was very much appreciated by us all as France and David ensured there was something for everyone in the basket-thank you! We were blessed with great weather for the duration of our stay so were able to make the most of staying in Swanage by visiting a variety of costal, countryside and cities from Bournemouth through to Weymouth. The local chain ferry was great for nipping across Poole Harbour to Sandbanks, Bournemouth and Poole. We loved our trip to Chesil Beach and all the usual stops along this stretch of the Jurassic Coast. We enjoyed fossil hunting in Kimmeridge Bay and the nearby Natural Trust beaches of Knoll and Shell were lovely to visit in the evening for a cool walk along the shore. Swanage itself offers a variety of local shops, restaurants and pubs. We enjoyed regular trips for a nightcap in the local pub, The Black Swan, which was located only around the corner from the house. All in all "Bay View" had everything we could have wished for in a family holiday property. It was home away from home with an excellent location and superb hosts. We all would highly recommend it for a lovely, relaxing holiday in a beautiful part of England.

A very comfortable and spacious home with lovely views. It is located in a quiet road but is only a very short walk into the town centre. Lots to do in Swanage and the surrounding area with some lovely beaches and coastal walks. Frances and David were the most amazing hosts - they went out of there way to find out about us and sent us local information and also provided a lovely welcome basket. We would love to go again!

We had a lovely stay in Bay View - perfectly located, just outside of town so near enough to walk everywhere but in a quieter area, with plenty of great coastal walks from the door and beautiful views of the sea. Sitting on the decking in the evening watching the sunset was magical. The house was also so well equipped - everything we needed and spotlessly clean. David and Frances were great hosts - loads of excellent recommendations for walks, pubs, restaurants and places to visit, really easy communication and a lovely welcome basket on arrival. We would highly recommend staying here. Thanks for a great stay, just what we all needed.

We had a lovely holiday in a lovely home. It's very comfortable and very well equipped. Good views. Lovely garden. The house is decorated and furnished beautifully and is in a nice spot. It's an easy 5 minute walk to town. We had such a nice time in a beautiful part of the country. I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely home. Thank you to the owners.

Walking distance to all the amenities of Swanage shops and beaches and with a nice view of the bay from the kitchen balcony, which is however only big enough for two people to sit on. The garden is spacious but lacks the lovely view. The kitchen is a great space with table, chairs and room to socialise and there are lots of good food shops in Swanage so we like to cook and spend time in the kitchen, however it is difficult to keep clean as there is no dishwasher and a lot of personal knick-knacks decorating it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay because Purbeck is such a great holiday destination and we had lovely weather.

The house is great, the communication with the owners was quick and friendly. The house is in a great location, a quick walk to the the beach front or centre of town. You can hear the steam trains and see the smoke from the house, which is ideal for a train loving 1 year old and his Grandad. There is a lovely sea view and great outdoor space. The double driveway is a real bonus in the area the house is. We would be very happy to stay here again. Thank you

We couldn't have had a better time during our stay. The garden is simply beautiful and the covered outdoor area meant that we could eat outside despite the occasional shower.

Great location in Swanage and loved the area for all the walking possibilities as well as local shops and restaurants. My only problem related to the final arrival instructions sent by HomeAway which I could not download onto my PC as they appeared to be only available through a phone app. As I do not have a smartphone and could not find any contact phone number for HomeAway I had to contact the owners at the last minute get get arrival times and door key code. It made me wonder what value I was getting for the booking fee I paid which I found far higher than any other cottage booking company I have dealt with.

The house is very attractive and well equipped. It also has a lovely garden complete with fishpond - which our four granddaughters particularly enjoyed. The kitchen/diner is quite spacious so perfect for family meals and games of cards. The house is well situated as it is only a 10-minute walk to the beach and is near the station for the steam train to Corfe Castle and open-topped buses to beautiful Studland Bay. It is on a quiet residential road and has sea views. We really enjoyed our stay here and loved the family atmosphere in Swanage during Carnival week. We would thoroughly recommend the house to a family with older children or even two couples. Thanks again Frances and David for a lovely week in your beautiful home!
