Stupa Platform

Swayambhunath is an ancient religious complex atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, west of Kathmandu city, Nepal. It is also known as the Monkey Temple as there are holy monkeys living in the north-west parts of the temple, it occupies a central position and it is probably the most sacred among Buddhist pilgrimage sites. For Tibetans and followers of Tibetan Buddhism, it is second only to Boudhanath.
I was lucky enough to visit Nepal, see it and take some pictures a week before the 2015 earthquake. The temple complex suffered damage in the Nepal earthquake. :-(

Prayer flags and mini stupas at the Monkey Temple in Kathmandu, a must see if you're in the capital.

More flags than you can pray a prayer at, at the top of the hill that Swayambhunath sits on. If you want your own Buddhist prayer flags, you can buy them from shops and vendors across the city (I mean you can probably get them on eBay too, but it just wouldn't be the same!).
