Good to know
With one bathroom for up to nine people, a little planning in the mornings helps. Bedrooms upstairs can be warm on hot summer nights, and there's no air conditioning.
Guest Access:
Guests have the whole house and garden. Self check-in by lockbox from 4 pm to 9 pm, check-out by 10 am. The step-free front door opens into the ground floor. Street parking is in a residents' zone, and one permit is provided.
The Neighborhood:
Middle Street is a quiet residential road north of Southampton city centre. Walking times: Bedford Place 11 minutes, Portswood and the Mayflower Theatre 20, St Mary's Stadium 21, Southampton Common 25 and WestQuay 25. By car: the Ocean Cruise Terminal 6 minutes, the Mayflower Cruise Terminal 7, Southampton General Hospital 10 and the New Forest at Lyndhurst 23. The Common has woods and play areas for families.
Getting Around:
Buses into the city stop close by. Southampton Central station, with direct trains to London Waterloo, is about 25 minutes on foot. For a second car, ask us about 24-hour visitor cards; supply is limited.
Other Things to Note:
ID check and deposit: after booking, the lead guest completes a short ID check and deposit step with our partner SafeGuest. You choose either a Damage Deposit of £350 (your card is saved and nothing is taken up front; it can only be charged for a claim SafeGuest approves after check-out) or SafeGuest's No Deposit fee of £40 (a one-off fee paid to SafeGuest). If you can't use the photo ID check, message us and we'll arrange a short video call instead. Please don't send ID documents by email. Your booking is on the Blue Puffin Stays Booking Terms (Guests) and the House Rules for this home.
Interaction with Guests:
Our local Blue Puffin Stays team looks after Middle Street and answers Vrbo messages every day from 8 am to 8 pm, with help on arrival until 9 pm. Tell us before you arrive if you'd like the cot set up. For a genuine emergency, use the number in your check-in details at any time.
