Love its location by the lake. Property has kayak for guests to use, it's like home away from home. Bedding, kitchen wares, toiletries, washing machine/dryer are all provided for. Owner is truly nice and easy to communicate with. Highly recommended.

What a great stay and beautiful lake-front cottage! Slept 8 of us nicely, gorgeous dock area, firepit, amenities. We had a super time! Lovely fall colors, and serenity in the area.

Beautiful getaway!

From the time of booking the property about a month & a half ago - the process was easy and responsive communication from the host.I am a big believer in communication.Parking is tricky - we had two vehicles and one of those vehicles was a pickup truck - we fit but it was tight.Be prepared for stairs - the area is well lit.I recommend the spot as it was clean and right on the water.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

I stayed here with my friend and three of her friends to celebrate her bridal shower and we had a blast! It was lovely to wake up to lake views in the morning, spending our days sitting on the dock and eating our meals on the patio, and at night we enjoyed cozying up to watch movies and play games.It was a short drive to the Kinsol Trestle for a small adventure and then into town for some ice cream before heading back to the cabin.I would definitely stay here again.

Disappointing Stay, cleanliness abd accessibility issues

I recently rented a cottage for over 800 for two nights, but I ultimately decided to stay only one night due to the unsatisfactory condition of the cabin. Upon arrival, I was confronted with several cleanliness issues, including black mold in the windowpane and pink mold in the shower. The accumulation of dust in the baseboards and heaters was so excessive that it had turned the wood baseboards gray, and the dishes were dirty, so we had to wash them before use. Additionally, there was so much dust on the ceiling fan that when we turned it on, a chunk flew off.Moreover, accessing the cabin requires navigating a significant number of steep stairs, which may not be suitable for everyone. While the location is appealing, it is better suited for a small family that can manage the stairs, as most of the beds are located in the loft area. Parking also posed a considerable concern, with inadequate space for our group of nine. When I reached out to the cabin renter to address these issues, she mentioned that she had personally cleaned the cottage and requested that I provide pictures and videos. After submitting the requested evidence, I have not received any further communication from her. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this cottage.

Okay Stay

We selected this listing for no. of people/ beds. Our family came to visit sporting events at our son’s new school. Improvements: The listing should have better photos to explain the living situation and the stairs to reach the property better. We attended with a Gramma who had some mobility issues, the steep stairs from the road to cottage were a big challenge for her. Also inside the cottage is a very steep ladder that connects the main floor to the upper floor. Thankfully this was ok for the teenager and young adults to navigate, so they took the beds upstairs, but I did not go visit and hang out with them upstairs as the ladder was too steep for my comfort level. I learned my lesson not reading throughly other reviews which speak to these two situations. Plenty of DVD’s to choose from, but too many remotes to easily navigate, having a smart TV with Prime/Netflix already logged into would be best. Lastly, although we attended in the winter season, we were looking forward to using the dock to take cold plunges into the lake. Unfortunately the dock had not been attended to, it needed to be cleaned. Things that made this rental great:The lakeside sauna had a picture window looking on to the lake. This is a rare and wonderful thing. The sauna was a bit finicky, but we figured it out eventually. The kayaks available made for a lovely early morning paddle for a few members of our group. The kitchen was well stocked with the basics so our family breakfasts were easy.

Wonderful Family Get Away

We had an amazing time, Belinda was a wonderful host and the cabin was perfect for our families. The kiddos had a blast swimming off the dock and there was plenty of room for everyone. There is also great sandy beach - which not all cabins on the lake offer, so really a bonus! Thanks again, we will for sure be booking again.

Wonderful family time on the lake!

We had a wonderful long weekend and loved the location of this lakefront cozy cabin! The host was very responsive and helpful. The cabin was nice and clean and had all of the amenities we were hoping for. We were able to launch our boat nearby and safely leave it on the dock all weekend. We were very lucky with the weather so spent most of our time outside and on the lake. The cabin may have felt a bit cramped if we had rainy weather but the space was perfect with nice weather. The loft area was great for our teens but the ladder to get up is quite steep so would be tricky for small children. The option to rent the little bunkhouse for extra sleeping space was a really nice bonus. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to be back next year!

Family vacation on the water!

The location of the cabin is superb! Quiet arm of the lake makes it perfect. The cabin is tucked in the trees and therefore shaded all day which is perfect because it stays cool on those hot sunny summer days. But there is A/C if you like it colder inside. Even better is the fact that the view from the deck on the cabin is unobstructed. Leisurely morning coffees sitting on the deck looking out at the calm water were the best! We spent almost all of our day time on the dock. Unfortunately the dock needs some serious TLC. It is an accident waiting to happen. Evenings were back on the deck to have a bbq and card games. Some nights the bugs were bad. I suggest the investment of a bug zapper/deterrent. We originally were 8 guests but only 7 made it. We definitely would not have been able to fit the 8 in the main cabin and would have had to rent the added bunk house. Overall it was a fantastic vacay!

Wonderful stay at the cozy cottage!

We had a great stay here last week! Lovely cottage with amazing lake access. We had two families of three people each, and kids and adults alike had a fabulous time (could have handled more people). The kids were in and out of the water all day, and I would watch from the deck or hang out on the dock. We had adults in the main floor rooms and kids up in the beautiful loft (with their own bathroom). Other highlights included: meals on the deck, movie nights (with the fun DVD collection, and also great cable), campfires, sauna with lake view for the cooler days, swimming across the lake each morning, trip to the Hand of Man Museum. Belinda was prompt with replies and easy to work with. Highly recommend!

Not as expected for 8 people. Ok for 4. Loft area not easily accessible, too large a step from ladder to floor surface, at a dangerous 90 degree angle. Rotten boards on the dock ready to fall through, very slippery when wet. No working smoke detector at all, upstairs one missing and downstairs not operable.

Weekend Getaway

Great spot! Cozy cabin at a beautiful and quiet part of the lake. Perfect place to get away from the city for the weekend. The sauna and the lake access were personal highlights.

Family getaway

Interior of cottage was good. One smoke detector only. The loft area had the base of a smoke detector but the actual smoke detector was absent.The exterior needed attention to the steps and retaining wall which was unstable and a trip hazard . The amenities listed a canoe and kayaks. There was no canoe. An updated list would be helpful for guests who may be looking for time on the lake.
