A cosy beach house bathed with natural light and native gardens provides the perfect getaway for couples or families wanting to relax. Come enjoy the beach in summer or sit by the wood fire in winter, soak it up all year round. Let the kids enjoy the books and games, while the adults can entertain outdoors on the deck.
The House The beach house features light-filled living areas that open out onto an outdoor deck with seating, and a gas BBQ. There is also a well-appointed kitchen including a dishwasher and microwave. The four bedrooms, two bathrooms can accommodate up to 10 people. With 1 queen size bed, 2 double beds and 2 lots of bunks (4 beds) Bedding (quilts and pillows) for all beds is provided but guests need to supply their own linen: sheets, covers and towels.
Linen is not provided at this property, guests must bring their own linen and towels.
The Sandy Shack is pet friendly

While the property is fully furnished and well equipped, it may not have all appliances and equipment you may be used to using. We apologise if this causes inconvenience.
- Guest Access
You have use of the entire house and yard. Guest access information will be provided the day of your arrival via email. This will include details on how to locate the property, where to locate the key safe, and the key safe combination to access the keys.
- Neighbourhood
Situated approximately 2.5 hours from Melbourne and approximately 40 mins to Wilsons Promontory. The property is located close to the main beach for swimming, surfing and fishing. Waratah Bay Surf Lifesaving Club patrols the beach over summer; they also have a bar, occasional meals and events. Launch your boat at Shallow Inlet, just a short 5 minute drive. It's famous for wind surfing, kite surfing and fishing. The Sandy Point General store is the hub for groceries, bait, petrol, gas, bottle shop and an Australia Post outlet. A small Mini golf course is located next to our office on Beach Parade (seasonal). Playgrounds, Tennis courts (equipment can be hired from the General Store), Half basketball court & public bbq areas are located next to the Sandy Point Community Centre. The Sandy Point Community Centre hosts art festivals, markets & other events over summer.
Sandy Point is a great base for exploring the local region. With Wilsons Promontory a short drive away, you can enjoy a range of short and long hikes that include breath taking beaches, rivers and wildlife encounters. The historic towns of Fish Creek, Walkerville, Foster, Toora and Meeniyan are an easy drive away, offering outstanding local produce, art galleries, cafes, restaurants and wineries. Also in easy reach is the historic Cape Liptrap Lighthouse and Walkerville Lime Kilns at the famous Magic Beach, Walkerville South. The Great Southern Rail Trail (131kms) runs from Nyora to Yarram and can be accessed at Fish Creek, it's ideal for biking or walking.
- Getting Around
Sandy Point is a lovely Village to stroll around, however getting beyond this you will need your own car.
- Other things to note
Due to the closure of the Gippsland Power Stations, during peak times (i.e. the middle of summer) we are prone to power blackouts. Mobile phone coverage can also be poor, travellers are advised to use Telstra for the best coverage in our area. This is unfortunately completely out of our control. Each property in Sandy Point is on tank water and septic systems.

Great stay with the family and pooch.
We loved exploring the area and this was a great base. Our dog LOVED the beach which was a short walk.
House was comfy and we all had plenty of room.

Clean property , great location. It’s a good property and overall pretty good.
The house didn’t have a dishwasher, whilst the TV is a smart TV , a newer larger one for that room would be better. We cleaned the clogged split system filters. And some lights don’t work . Also with the caravan there it has limited parking space. As mentioned a good property and thank you. John

Sandy Point
Cleanliness was average, spider webs everywhere, we even had to deal with an ant infestation and the house had not been aired for a while. BBQ was not clean to use, some crockery and pans needed washing before we could use them. Beds were comfortable and fortunately we didn’t need to use 4 rooms for 4 different couples as two rooms were joined by a bifold door. Outdoor area was untidy and lawns needed mowing. Having a caravan parked in the driveway meant only two vehicles could park off the road, which for a 10 occupant house is not enough. It is a great location to stay, shame the house didn’t live up to expectations.
