"Fabulous experience. if you want the wild/lodge experience but still a staffed hotel with a bunch of services then this is for you! "We had a great time at FINCA el Refugio de Papito. The experience will stay with our family forever. The hosts were welcoming, friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a Pura Vida experience. Whether it was fishing in the pond, seeing the sloths, macaws, iguanas, turtles or herons it was fantastic. Their offers of fresh coconut, plantains, and fresh cane juice were well received. Highly recommended and we hope to be back one day. Muchas gracias!"

"This place is a great base camp to explore La Fortuna. We came with our five kids and this house had everything that we needed including a beautiful River outback that my kids really enjoyed. The air conditioners in the bedroom work amazing. The host was great with the communication and accommodated our delayed flights which caused us not to get to the place until about 10 hours after we were originally supposed to. Really grateful for a fantastic day."

"Check in was easy, pretty spot and view. Needed to use the back patio during the heat of the day until the sun went down, because the direct sun in the front area is intense. We were surprised the sliding doors and all windows did not have screens, but it wasn't too bad. Our biggest issue was the refrigerator wasn't funcioning properly, and the toaster and coffee maker were also not working. We communicated these issues with the host and there was no discussion of repair or help to ensure our...

"Lovely stay! Plenty of room and patio is very comfortable as well. Down the street from main property, so accessing other on-site amenities like the pool is not as easy. Booked through Expedia and received different messaging and instructions through both Expedia and VRBO apps. But VRBO instructions were very good. Guest must message host through VRBO to actually reach them."
