The property itself was really nice—beautiful home and a great location. The only minor issue was that the toilets had trouble flushing, but overall, it was a comfortable stay.
However, our experience was marred by the property manager's questionable behavior. The listing originally indicated that the home was pet-friendly with no mention of additional fees. After we booked, the property manager requested a pet fee, but when I asked for proof that this was listed, he only provided a screenshot of his settings where he was adding the fees. After our stay, I noticed that he updated the listing to include pet fees and claimed it was already there, but thankfully I had already taken screenshots of the original listing that showed no such details.
When we refused to pay the unexpected $70 pet fee, he retaliated by charging me $70 for alleged “pet damages” and was incredibly rude in our communications. Additionally, he preferred to be paid via Venmo or PayPal instead of through the app. Throughout this issue, he communicated with me via my personal phone instead of using the app’s chat feature, further making it clear he does not want Vrbo to be aware of his questionable actions.
This could have been a great stay, but the unprofessional conduct of the property manager left a bad impression.
