We had an exceptional experience at Casa do Santos. This is a lovely property in a beautiful setting. Maria’s recommendations were perfect and gave us a lovely experience of both large and small family vineyards.

This place was remarkably peaceful and welcoming. Very clean with all the comforts. Maria was exceptional in greeting us and providing a history of the winery. She welcomed us with a glass of port. Definitely a recommended stay!!

Superbe place pour séjourner dans la vallée du Douro. L’hôte est gentille, accueillante et donne de bon conseils!! L’endroit est magnifique. C’est un petit gîte décoré avec goût. Le petit déjeuner était parfait. Nous avons adoré!!

If you have a car, and have the good fortune to be traveling in the Douro Valley, this place is not to be missed. It is a bit hard to get to, but well worth the effort. Fantastic setting, beautiful rooms and amenities, and 5-star service. This is a family-run guesthouse, and Maria knows the area, the history, the products, and the hospitality business. Just a gem. I regret that I didn’t build in a day just to relax, visit one or 2 of the nearby (5 minute drive) wineries, and relax by the pool with the spectacular view of the Valley. Casa do Santo receives my highest recommendation.

This is truly a gem to be discovered. The setting is absolutely extraordinary, nested high along the hills, the views of the Douro Valley and the vignards is breathtaking, the surroundings is so relaxing. The village is very charming, like stepping back in time. The service is impeccable, from the time we arrived, Maria and her staff went over and above. For stunning views and quality service, look no further this is the place you must go.

Avendo girato il Portogallo per due settimane possiamo sicuramente dire che questa struttura è stata una delle migliori sotto tutti i punti di vista! Molto pulito (cosa rara), camera spaziosissima, personale super cortese e veloce (altra rarità). Consiglio vivamente questa struttura! Maria, la proprietaria, è una vera professionista dell’accoglienza, la migliore di tutta la vacanza!

Le personnel nous a accueilli et a fait le nécessaire pour préparer notre chambre même si nous étions en avance. Il nous a donné beaucoup d’informations et nous a fait gouter à des produits locaux. L’hôtel est aménagé avec beaucoup de goût: vraiment charmant. Maria est extraordinaire.

Look no further this is the place to stay in Douro Valley. Gorgeous property with breathtaking views from high in the mountains. Surrounded by vineyards the family owned property has a rich history in wine making and they are passionate to share that history with you and give you memories that last a lifetime. 10/10 We will be back!

Just a beautiful location with a lovely setup. Breakfast is excellent. A good two day stay where you can visit wineries, relax in the pool and watch the sun set.

Marie and the team are so attentive offering information and help on everything in the Douro, from restaurants, hikes to wineries. Provesende is high on the hillside with wonderful views over the valley below. A quiet oasis in a beautiful wine region.

This is by far the best place we stayed during our trip to Portugal. The place is absolutely beautiful! The host welcomed us and explain to us the history of the place. The room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. We felt like being home. There is a pool and a vineyard in the backyard. The decor is modern and cozy. The parking is accessible and easy. It’s 25 minutes to the best vineyards and porto houses in Pignao.
