"Overall a lovely stay. I missed the fact that there was no table and could not sort out the coffee machine. Loved that it was pet friendly but this was too evident in the back yard so could not let my pup out to enjoy it. To be fair it had been a long winter with unusual high snowfall that had just melted so spring cleanup maybe had not happened. "

"Fantastic place to stay (seven of us in total) while we visited family in nearby Cambridge, NY. The owner was incredibly friendly and proactively checked on us to make sure we didn’t need anything. Beds were comfortable and there were plenty of dishes and equipment to make cooking meals at home easy to do. Easy to get to the stores we needed and bring groceries into the house. The back porch (entrance) was enjoyable as well when the weather permitted us to sit outside and relax. Really enjoyed...

"OMG - this place is fantastic. An oasis of peace and quiet yet close to so many things - Albany Rep for theatre, 38 mins away, Saratoga - 38 min away, Bennington museums - 38 min away. Manchester VT - 38 min away. This house is so impeccably appointed and comfortable, you want for nothing. Add in the "see to the horizon" sight lines out your bedroom window and you know you are in heaven. You know the host cares for your comfort - she has even added a bit of magic to your stay"

"South Shire is a quaint Victorian Inn on Elm Street within walking distance to the center of Bennington, VT. The Inn has a family feel and elegance. We traveled as a couple. It was easy to get to sites and enjoy fine restaurants. The Inn is in keeping with the feel of strength of the Bennington community, as a place for artists, musicians, and people's expression generally to thrive. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend South Shire."

"Nice quite place to stay the night. No second floor, so there was no chance of being disturbed by people walking above you. Clean room, including the bathroom. I liked that it had a mini fridge so we could put food in it that we brought with us. There was also a separate freezer where I refroze my ice packs over night. Very handy. I didn't have any food to reheat, but if I had, the microwave would have come in handy. I did use the coffee pot for coffee in the morning. I took off a star...

"Et super flot og charmerende hotel, med flotte værelser i super flotte omgivelser.. dog var sengene på ingen måde noget at råbe hurra for - dobbeltsengen var gået i stykker og fjedrene i madrassen i enkeltsengen var sprunget. Mht. morgenmaden så var der ingen "varme retter" selvom der blev reklameret med kontinental morgenmad. Personalet var overordnet set meget søde - dog var der en af tjenerne som lignede Døden fra Lübeck.. men hey.. hun har måske bare haft en dårlig dag. "

"Perfect for the price. An old place and decor is straight from grandmas summerhouse, but clean and all was working. Wifi is free. The Hilton in Walton we just left, charged $15 per day."
