"Very nice and clean old-style Hawaiian home in rural area. It is very private and quiet although it is likely you will hear the resident fowl and frogs. It is very close to a number of historic sites, beaches, and hikes--and interesting country roads. A few stores in Hawi and Kapuu have coffee and other snacks (and local art) and there is a nearby grocery. If you are looking for "off the beaten path" this place should be on your list. "

"We loved our stay. Such a peaceful place with an incredible view. The hale itself is super comfortable with everything you could possibly need. Excellent location for the best swimming beaches on the island, which are a short drive away. We were a bit unlucky with the mosquitoes in what's normally a very dry area—hopefully next time will be more typical. A very special spot that was exactly what we were looking for. Showering under the stars was especially memorable! "
