"The food at the Piedmont Restaurant was not good. The menu was too sophisticated for the staff to execute. The lodge rooms were updated, but not very clean. There was a bridge in the gardens with rotted wooden slats and steps, and one section of the rail was missing altogether. The staff was friendly and helpful."

"Nothing fancy. Good solid quiet bed for a solo traveler. I was in town for a golf tournament. Didn’t need any amenities. It’s in walking distance to 3 restaurants and a family dollar store. (A block or two) "

"This place is a gem! We were not expecting this place to be so awesome! The views were beautiful and peaceful! The bar was outside (covered) and open from 6-11pm! They had live music one evening which was cool! The staff was friendly and the rooms were very clean and spacious! Get a balcony, it was worth it!"

"If you are into throwbacks with some upgraded amenities then this place is for you. It sits in a beautiful little town and you can imagine how it was at the turn of the century. We can’t say enough about this place from the price to the bed. Best mattress we have ever stayed on. We will be returning at some point and look forward to it until we do. Highly recommend."

"I needed a place to lay my head. Mainstream inn was clean and comfortable. As a solo female, I felt safe there. I’m not one to need very many amenities. I typically don’t go to the breakfasts. There is none here, so it’s not a big deal for me. If you’re looking for fancy amenities, move on. "

"House was very nice and host was extremely communicative. Everything was well stocked. It was a little closer to a busy road than we thought it would be so there was road noise but we brought a fan so it drowned out the traffic a bit. It would have been nice to have curtains throughout the house or blinds on the bedroom windows but overall it was good. Very pleased with how well stocked it was"
