"Basic things that were neglected or done poorly 1) no pre check in email was received resulting in us being stuck outside the property as we were not informed of the access code to gain entry into the property. Imagine being caught in a situation when you had 4 cars backed up behind you and you couldn’t get in - enough said 2) no air conditioning in the rooms and the windows can’t be open. "Cosy room, lovely outlook to grazing wallabies and the lake, warm from a good heater, comfortable bed, well stocked for breakfast, perfect for an overnight stay as we travelled across Tasmania from the west to the east coast. "

"The owner was very friendly and helpful, as were all the staff. Would have liked a microwave in the cabin but it’s not a deal breaker. The gas log fire in the cabin was lit which made for a warm and cozy welcome when we checked in. The bed and bedding were nice, warm and comfortable. As it gets pretty cold there, electric blankets might be a nice touch, that way you don’t need to leave the gas heater on most of the night. All in all, we had a lovely time."

"Everything was fantastic, 10 out of 10. The Shalet was spotless, it had a lovely wood fire and an electric heater. The rooms were all done in wood panelling, there was kitchen and laundry facilities and the spa bath was a lovely extra touch. Despite the rainy weather, we were very cosy and warm."
