"From the start to the finish everything was perfect. Paul and Elaine were so friendly and welcoming, we did not have any issues whats so ever. "Second time visiting this property. Isolated location, beautiful immaculate home, wonderful gardens and outdoor entertaining space, well equipped large kitchen! Great place to get away from the hustle and bustle with your favourite people, highly recommended."

"Was informed 3 days before stay that we would be staying in a different house to listing, which for us was ok. Clean bedding, comfortable beds. However the house although wasn't filthy it wasn't clean. The whole place looked like a family had just "popped out". Clothes hanging on doors, shoes left where they had just taken them off, generally a untidy house."

"Location, wow - beautiful vistas, lovely gardens, lovely cottage. Inside is also very nice indeed, well appointed and comfortable - only negative there was that there was a bit of a paraffin smell near the boiler, not sure if there had been a spillage. Otherwise great and extremely convenient for the RHS show. We cooked, we BBQd, we ate on the deck, we watch the wildlife. Alpaca farm is a short walk and was a lovely little trip for brekkie and animal watching. We will be back! Thanks Alison :)"

"I didn’t exactly know what I was letting myself in for when I booked into The Shepherd’s Lodge but it was actually a pleasant experience and it provided exactly what I was looking for i.e. a comfortable place to lay my head at night and have a cup of tea and few quiet hours after a long day at a Folk Music Festival. The only problems I encountered were due to the weather and therefore beyond anyone’s control. "

"The property was as expected and fulfilled our needs for our 2 night stay. Parking was not on property, but it was close by and a very friendly neighbor helped navigate our parking options. One minor issues, there was construciton going on immediately next door which was not mentioned for the time frame we were staying and started early in the morning. Given the historical value and requirements of the home, the staircase and doorways upstairs are very short and tight. It adds to the charm...

"We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage. Great proximity to the village and many other great villages and regional highlights. The cottage had plenty of room for our family of 5 and just the right amount of everything. Everything was very clean and organized. The back yard is great too as is the view of the pasture and sheep from the front. Would definitely stay there again!"
