"We were warmly greeted by our host on arrival and instantly felt at home walking through the door. The rooms were clean, spacious and well furnished. Everything about it was lovely: the bed was incredibly comfortable, the breakfast and home made cake were a lovely touch and the view was to die for. We stayed three nights and if we didn’t already have plans, I would have stayed longer. Valdez is a pretty, quiet and relaxed place to spend time. I highly recommend Valdez and this property. "

"Very spacious and clean facility for our family of 4. The advertised place is in the basement of the dome house (not the dome) and host lives upstairs. They allow usage of the upstairs fireplace and grill outside. Very warm and considerate host. Glad we stayed here. "

"We’re a family of 6 with 4 teenage boys winding our way through AK for the first time. Valdez is our midway point and the historic house was perfect. It is quirky and quaint which adds appeal. We loved that we had a kitchen and space to spread out. The washer and dryer were put to great use and being able to walk everywhere was perfect! We rented bikes from the Fat Mermaid and tried out ice cream from a couple of the stands. Walking to Safeway was helpful in making meals and we just enjoyed...
