"Overall we loved it, though it would have been good to know that you can't drive to the hotel if you don't have a proper 4WD as it is located at the end of a long and steep tarished road. Luckily the hotel offers an transport service for the dirty road between 8am and 5pm. They also offer food(preorder only) and drinks at the bar. The staff was very nice and always helpful. Our favourite was the weekday driver. The cottage had a very nice kitchen unfortunately not much utensils in it... Being so...

It requires a walk up ~40 steep steps but once on top, your are in a beautiful valley with wildlife and jungle sounds. "I have now been staying at Fort Young a good handful of times and it is always a pleasure to visit. The rooms have been done up since my last visit and some sort of construction was still going on outside but not disturbing. In general a great stay as always but avoid they breakfast. The morning staff in the restaurant is letting the hotel down. Service is below the usual standard and the buffet consists of lots of empty trays...you'll be lucky to fill your plate. This happened every morning...early or late."
