"The house was clean. We had plenty of linens. It was easy to find. Appreciated that our car could be parked off the street and into the driveway. We were traveling with a dog 🐕. Backyard was chain linked fenced which was great in leaving the dog outside off leash. We didn't find pots or pans or utensils in kitchen to do "food prep". There were baking sheets for heating frozen/already prepared food items in the oven or the microwave. Mike was easy to work with and communicate with."

"This is a great little house, close to town with everything you need. The host Mike and Amy are very resposive and accommodating. We will for sure use it again on our next stop through the area."

"Great place in a quiet charming town."

"Lovely house, clean, good location, and very comfortable for our stay"

"Nice cozy bungalow in convenient location to historic restaurant and good bakery. Easy check in and very friendly and helpful host. Pet friendly with fenced back yard. Had all amenities with well stocked kitchen. Had to wash a few glasses and coffee carafe needed cleaning but was a good stay!"

"Went to visit kids who live in the area. Normally we get a hotel but decided to try doing something different. This was so much better than hotels and plan to go back next time we are down."

"The house is very well maintained and cared for, the story and its relation to preserving R66 history is wonderful. The hosts were flexible with check-in timing, there is plenty of space for parking and the front porch swing adds a great vibe. Overall, a reasonably priced and comfortable stay! Would definitely recommend."

"Beautiful loft, great place to stay!!"

"Oh my word this place is incredible. Bed was comfortable great location and the original aspects of the old building brought up to date with modern convenience. I think Jennifer and I will be getting more acquainted because I have a hard time finding a decent place to stay when I come to my hometown to visit. Carlinville is good little town close to my hometown and made attending my best friends wedding in Gillespie a breeze. We will be back."

"Great place. Great location."

"The house is beautiful. A very comfortable stay. It was very clean and well stocked with anything you might need. The host is very gracious. She was quick to respond to any request and reached out to us when we left something behind. We were able to retrieve it before leaving town. It was a lovely place to stay. Highly recommended."

"Return visit for us. Well located with ample space for a family and nice yard. Clean well appointed. Highly recommend. We will stay again!"

"Amazing and elegant rooms, living spaces, and furniture, with plenty of old relics and decorations to really make you feel like you’re living in the past. All that and modern mattresses, pillows, and sheets! Very comfortable!"

"Hosted our second bachelor here and it’s still one of the coolest places we’ve ever stayed! George is an awesome host!"

"Place was infested with flys! My wife swept up over 50 dead flys off the floor. There were hundreds of live ones. Called the booking company shortly after arriving and sent them pictures. Took three phone calls to the booking company, approx 40 min ea. but finally got a full refund and we left. Host was a terrible communicator. Would NOT recommend."

"Easy to get in and check out. Could have been cleaner, I had to wipe down the tub before bathing my kids."

"The host was very helpful when we lost power during a storm."

"I took my teen daughter and several of her friends here for a birthday trip. Our section of the house was beautiful and everyone had a lovely time."

"Wonderful stay would recommend"
