"This was a nice hotel. Somewhat difficult to find, though. The attention to guests isn’t great. Left our garbage for them to take and it was still in our room when we returned at the end of the day. They offer free coffee, but ran out of cream and didn’t have any available for 2 days. Strange. Also, no front staff in the morning to ask questions. "

"We absolutely loved our stay in Kyoto! Mr. Tenaka was a wonderful host. Unfortunately our flight was delayed a few hours and we didn’t get to the Vrbo until almost 11PM, but he was there to greet us anyway and show us his beautiful property. He recommended many places for us to visit/eat and was always available for questions. The property was gorgeous and immaculately clean. We would love to stay here again if we’re in Kyoto! "

"Wonderful place to stay, we loved that the area was in a real neighborhood and not touristy. The only complaint is the main bedroom faces a an alley that has a motion activated light that shines bright on and off all night while you are trying to sleep. Dark shade would help this situation. "

"Ein typisches altes japanisches Haus mit tollem Flair. Sehr gut ausgestattete Küche, täglich frisches Wasser und Handtücher. Wir haben uns zu sechst sehr wohl gefühlt, die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter hat auch sehr gut geklappt. Die Strasse war beim ersten Mal nicht ganz einfach zu finden, auch der Taxifahrer hat sich schwer getan. Ich kann die Unterkunft für eine größere Gruppe/ Familie aber nur weiterempfehlen! "

"Loved it, felt like a real local. Washer was a plus and included detergent! Fast responses and overall a great stay :) 9.8/10 a little bit dusty specifically the top of air conditioner but hey, it’s an older place, it was expected and part of the vibe. Recommend if you want to stay in a more traditional place hence the name of the place. "

"Excellent home stay experience. Definitely best to stay for 2 nights so you can explore go to the fish market and make traditional food with Hideo the host. Rent a car for ease of transfer there or book it in with the host for his tours. Great remote location nice to experience authentic Japan. Very comfortable sleep on the traditional beds. "
