"We were looking for a couple nights near Mt. Washington on our vacation to the northeast during the first part of June and stumbled across this hidden gem in Bretton Woods. This house in the private community sits at the bottom of a cul-de-sac right on the Ammonnoosuc River while still getting distant views of Mt. Washington and the northern presidential peaks. "We had a great weekend here! Less than 15 mins from Wildcat Mountain. The house had everything you could need for a weekend skiing. It comfortably fit 4 adults, and there was a bedroom to spare. We enjoyed going to Big Day Brewing after a day of skiing. We got lots of snow one day, and the driveway was plowed so we did not have to worry about snow removal. The hosts were nice and responsive. Next time we ski at wildcat we would stay here again! Thanks Jenny and Paul! "

"My family and I had the most wonderful time staying at this property for a long ski weekend. Lots of room and the perfect layout for a large group... plenty of space to gather as a family while still affording privacy when you wanted it. Beautiful kitchen for congregating and entertaining, and an awesome loft with games and a pool table, which the teenagers loved. And checkin/checkout was a breeze. Kudos to Bretton Woods Vacations for all your communication and follow-up. Already counting down...

"The house was clean and tidy, but the address was incorrect on Vrbo and the house was very cold upon arrival. No heat upstairs and the heat downstairs was shut off. (Temp during the day was below 50°, at night in the 20s). The host called me about the address after I messaged him. Vrbo needs to fix that. "

"We have been visiting Pittsburg for 30 years, and are SO happy to have found this place! It was meticulous, comfortable, and spacious enough for 8 of us and our dogs. It has great trail access, ample parking for vehicles and trailer(s). The house is very well stocked, and so many quality things we haven't found in the other places we've stayed. There are good quality pots and pans to use, the bed linens are quality (nice break from those awful rough polyester moose bedspreads!), beds and couches...

"Our stay at Applebrook was wonderful. We had 15 people (10 adults and 5 kids ages 8-1). We rented it because it is only a 3 minute ride to Santa’s Village. It was very comfortable and more than enough room for us.The kitchen, dining area and living room are all huge. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in the area."

"This house was perfect for 3 families hanging out together before and after skiing at Bretton Woods (10 min drive). Pool table, ping pong, foosball, board games. Plenty of kitchen equipment, flatware and utensils. Comfortable beds and nice decorations. Definitely will return!"

Smuk udsigt, men alt for dyrt og nedslidt

"Grand View Mountain Hotel ligger utroligt smukt med en fantastisk udsigt over bjergene, der virkelig tager pusten fra én. Beliggenheden er uden tvivl hotellets største styrke, og naturen omkring gør det til en oplevelse i sig selv at bo her. Desværre lever resten af hoteloplevelsen slet ikke op til omgivelserne. Selve hotellet fremstår gammelt og nedslidt, hvilket især ses på værelserne og fællesområderne, der trænger til en kærlig hånd og en omfattende renovering. Det føles som om tiden er gået i stå, og det trækker helhedsindtrykket markant ned. Priserne er helt ude af proportioner med det, man får for pengene. Servicen er middelmådig og føles hverken personlig eller professionel, og det er svært at forstå, hvordan de kan forsvare det høje prisniveau. Når det gælder maden, er der ingen tvivl om, at den er hjemmelavet og velsmagende. Retterne er lækre og tydeligvis lavet med gode råvarer, men priserne ligger på et niveau, der minder om finere restauranter i storbyer som Manhattan. Det føles simpelthen forkert, når omgivelserne og resten af hotellet ikke kan matche den ambition. Grand View Mountain Hotel har et enormt potentiale takket være sin beliggenhed, men hvis de skal leve op til deres egne priser og gæsternes forventninger, kræver det en massiv opgradering af både faciliteter og service."
