"The hotel staff told me I had to pay at check-in. I said I had already paid through Hotels.com. Staff said: «no you have paid through Expedia» I showed her my receipt, but due to it having the hotels.com logo and that the payment had been done in my local currency it didn’t provide sufficient information to avoid the misunderstanding. She tried to call someone but no answer. Again she insisted I had to pay. I assumed that hotels.com had a virtual card setup for my booking. I asked her to charge the card she had on file, and that worked. If I hadn’t asked her to do that, I would have had to work out a duplicate charge on my corporate card, so I’m happy I was suggesting it. "
