"Clean modern hotel, great staff. Sometimes they couldn't understand me, but then they would call in someone who could speak better English. I stay here four days, took a trip the staff helped organize and then returned to this hotel till I left Mandalay. I started walking around the area. Stores and restaurants were close so I could avoid the healthy taxi prices when I was hungry. The road is torn up in front of the hotel but I feel sure it will be reapaired eventually. Try the shaved ice cream...

The staff is really nice and eager to help with everything and the restaurant on the 10th floor serves good and very reasonably priced food (mix of local and western). The hotel is within walking distance of the night market, and centrally located in Mandalay. However, not with a lot of restaurants within walking distance. Grab a taxi - it is not expensive to reach the good restaurants - we can highly recommend the Mingalarbar...
