"I spent 1 night and it was fine for me. The room was clean. There is a fan which was good bc I don't like ACs. The mattresses needs updating bc I could feel the coils. The front desk was very nice. The grounds are very clean. "

"The property is a mini animal sanctuary, with many agouti running around and sloths hanging in the trees. Many birds and frogs and even a kinkajou, although hard to spot. The hosts are very nice and helpful, Marise will make sure you and comfortable and Pierre will tell you all about the wildlife. The room is clean and comfortable, although there is no AC, so keep that in mind. It is walkable to Cahuita although a couple more min out of the way than some of the other hotels, wasn’t a problem to...

"I had a nice and relaxing stay at El Nido. If you want to be close to Puerto Viejo and the nightlife (shopping, restaurants, bars) but you also want a peacefull stay this is the place to go. It was about a 10min drive from Puerto Viejo and easy to go to by taxi or tuk tuk. At day time it is also a very nice ride on bicycle that makes it easy to go to all of the nearby beaches. The owners are helpfull with a arranging tours. "

"Wonderful place. Nice surroundings, really nice staff, good food, nice pool and quiet area, yet close to restaurants etc. Only small thing we missed was a bed light, instead of lamps in the ceiling, so a minor thing :)"

Waking up to the sounds of howler monkeys in the morning was a memorable experience. Just keep in mind that having a car is beneficial. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing and peaceful getaway!"

"We enjoyed our very short stay at La Bonita Lodge. Unfortunately the airline lost our luggage so we spent most of our day in San Jose buying clothes before heading down to Puerto Viejo. We arrived late but had a nice dinner at Banana Azul and then were able to use the easy to follow directions to gain access to the property and our room. The room was spotless and welcoming. We weren't able to park our car in the lot as it was full but after contacting the host we were told it was fine to park on...

"Very nice stay. We had a family room just across the steet of the beautiful beach. The hotel is in very nice quiet surroundings with a lot of birds, butterflyes, monkeys and sloths. The staff is always very friendly and heldful. In total a stay worth to remember. "
