Being only a 15 minute drive from Penrith and the M6, it is easily reached and holidaymakers flock to the pretty village to admire the scenery, sit outside with a refreshing pint at one of the Inns serving locally brewed ales, enjoy afternoon teas on the banks of the river or to wonder around the shops. Home to the Ullswater Steamers, enjoy a leisurely cruise around the lake, jump off at Glenridding, Howtown and Aira Force to explore a different part of the lake or continue your journey on foot taking in part of the Ullswater way, a 20 mile circular route around the lake.

On the days you prefer not to cook in the well equipped kitchen, head into Pooley Bridge, a 2 minute walk and dine at one of the inns, cafes or bistro.
