I chose this hotel because I was going to a show in Adidas Arena, 5 minute's walk from there. If you have a similar situation, staying 1 or 2 nights is okay. But otherwise it's a hard pass. The area is dirty, smelly...ugly. You know the fringe parts of societies where poverty and substance abuse reside - it is THAT area. I wasn't afraid, since I wasn't out late and it's summer, but I was definitely..."ugh".
If you have a family: never. If you have a dog: you do Not want to take it for a walk here...
Upon arriving I asked the man behind the counter if it was the reception, his response was "Well, what does it look like?". Honestly, I think he was trying to be a little sassy (not outright rude), but I wasn't feeling it; I wouldn't have asked if the sign above had said "front desk" instead of "bar".
The night staff was nice. He made a little joke and was kind to show me the way when I asked.
House keeping: it looked clean and neat enough. Raised bed, so it had been thoroughly hoovered, no hairs or anything in and around sink or bed. But 1: they didn't have proper sized linens for the bed. It was two regular ones on the mattress and two for my blanket - not the type you put the blanket in - so getting in and out of bed was just a mess of tangly sheets. 2: by the head of the bed there was a sticky stain. (Not..."human-like", more resembling a fizzy drink or juice). It was about 2x1dm, so how it could've been missed...
