While there were positive features about the apartment, we encountered several significant challenges. It is clear that the owner/manager is motivated, but it needs additional attention in order to earn a top rating.From the start, communication with the manager was dicey. they wrote in French, I relied in English. There was a switch mid-booking in the payment system that was fraught with problems. While I had confirmation that I had paid for the stay, I received threats of cancellation from the platform. A helpful step-by-step video was sent only the day before - revealed that the lift can only be accessed by a full flight of narrow circular stairs, necessitating lugging luggage for two up a flight. Once the lift finished, it opens to another half-flight of stairs to the actual floor of the building where the apartment is located. I would not have selected this place had I known how much schlepping was required.We had a devil of a time getting the key to work in the lock. The digital key stuck before unlocking — a service visit by a very unhappy service man got the thing open the first time, but we had to wrestle the lock each and every time.The interior was OK not great — tired furnishings, lots of the owner’s stuff laying about, no guide to the place and essentials — glasses, plates, etc. — hidden in remote places. The hide rug was a tripping hazard. Felt like we were in someone’s home instead of staying on our “home away from home.” Unlikely to redo.
