"DISGUSTING-DIRTY-DANGEROUS The pictures are a lie!! The cottage is run down, back door DID NOT lock, bedding torn, ants, with mold and rot everywhere. This place may have been nice at one time but it is absolutely gross now. We walking in and in thirty minutes I booked another place on Expedia and we left. Contacted the management company and it took them two days to respond, of course they said the facility is in excellent condition. Lies!! I have book dozens of places through Expedia since...

"The grounds and the view are great, the cabin has been partially restored. It was a very rustic kitchen set-up, but we made it work. Only real problem were ants. They could find a single grain of sugar anywhere.We named the rooster that hangs around there Hei-Hei. We also had the gecko brothers who kept sneaking into kitchen.The pond has toads in it and they sing at night, counted 6 one night. The water lily bloomed while we were there.The temp on the water heater needs to be turned up a little,...

"Room was clean and comfortable. Loved the clean bathroom. Great shower with never ending hot water.The oversized mini refrigerator was great to have keep my bag of ice for 2 day as I we used it in our cooler during the day and refreshed it in the freezer when we returned. Kept food & drinks chilled. Hot coffee pot was well used for making hot coffee and tea.Room could use a few more hooks to hand clothes and towel bars. Bed was too soft. Would prefer a firmer mattress"

"Joe & Cindy's Luxury Oceanfront Guest House in Pepeekeo was the perfect place for my girlfriend and I to stay during our visit to Big Island. It is beautifully and comfortably designed and had everything we needed. We cooked several meals here and everything necessary was supplied. You have to check out the water view from the cliff - it's outstanding and worthy of photos and a picnic. The extremely private cottage is a short drive from Hilo and the directions and check in/check out processes...

"Property could do with a good renovation but prob one of the best in Hilo. It’s tight next to an abandoned hotel and homeless/ rough sleepers are all over the place. We chose to self park our rental which was offsite in a sketchy gravel parking lot. This was not attended and had heaps of pot holes. There were also a lot of homeless people sleeping in their car. In saying all that. The staff were amazing and accommodating with any and all requests we had. Very friendly all of them just let down...

"The house was nice generally but the room I stayed in was very musty and smelled like cigarettes. The towels were horribly musty. It’s a must to use bleach on hotel towels but these smelled like it was not being used. The room mattress was way too soft for me. Finally, they required a $200 deposit which was not for incidentals but “in case there’s damage to the room”"
