The space
The Woodland Hive at Shambala Nature Retreat is a luxurious eco-sanctuary nestled in the heart of the southwest forest, where connection, tranquility, and rejuvenation flow naturally.

Step into the Woodland Hive, a timeless haven where Mediterranean charm meets the grounding presence of the Australian bush. Tucked away amidst native trees, just 18 minutes from Margaret River and 15 minutes from Cowaramup, this unique retreat is your sanctuary for soulful connection and deep relaxation.

Designed with harmony in mind, the Hive’s open-plan layout welcomes you with its blend of polished concrete, hand-crafted wooden features, and abundant natural light that dances across its eight-sided form. Four cozy sleeping alcoves offer space for up to six guests:

A queen bed swathed in bamboo linens
A double bed with organic cotton linens
Two single beds, perfect for restful slumber beneath the mezzanine’s treehouse-inspired embrace.
Let us know if you’d prefer all separate beds made up for your group’s needs.

At the heart of the Hive, a central fireplace radiates warmth during cooler months, drawing friends and family together into its inviting glow. Here, stories are shared, moments unfold, and the simple joys of being present come alive.

The entire house is yours, in the privacy of surrounding forest.

Our neighbouring yoga shala is located in close proximity to the Hive as part of our retreat center and is included in bookings for large groups/of the whole center.

Additional holistic services and offerings are available*, such a seasonal wholefood catering, integrative yoga and meditation sessions, private concerts, sound healing, and Ayurvedic holistic root cause medicine consultations and tailored workshops, nature-connection workshops and more. We provide organic cotton linens, eco-friendly bathroom essentials, bamboo toilet paper, and sustainable products like Who Gives A Crap. Our property relies on rainwater, and greywater is recycled to nourish our gardens. We kindly ask you to conserve water, avoid bringing chemical-based products, and follow our composting and rubbish separation practices.

- For those seeking deeper relaxation and healing, on-site holistic sessions with our co-founder, Ayurvedic root-cause practitioner Lena Diarmada, are available. Lena offers Ayurvedic consultations, integrative yoga, sound healing, and therapeutic bodywork, tailored to support your wellness journey.

- **the price of this listing includes up to 6 people per night. Please let us know if you'd prefer to have separate beds made up - both sleeping alcoves contain an extra single bed. Otherwise the default bed make-up is the Queen bed for 2ppl in one alcove and the double bed for 22ppl in the other alcove, as well as one single bed made up in another two alcoves. :)
