Cancelled Condo without Notice

The Owner of the condo we rented sold the condo and never notified VRBO. We arrived in Orlando with no place to stay. Hot mess and unhappy!

Don't Stay Here!

This place is very tired and not well taken care of. Wireless internet did not work, main TV in living room did not work, most lightbulbs in dining room were burned out, place is really beat up and faucets in master bath were very hard to turn on and off. Owner ghosted me once I checked in. I love Vista Cay but renting this place was a huge mistake.

Great location and spacious condo

We loved the location and the size of the condo. It was actually our second year staying at this property. This year though we noticed something’s had been neglected. Nothing major but definitely needed some attention. Living room fan didn’t turn on, no pool towels at all, dining room chandelier almost all bulbs burnt out, sink faucet was loose, master bedroom fan didn’t work, master bathroom missing towel bar, and had multiple burnt out light bulbs. Maybe a new cleaning crew who would pay attention to details would be best for cleaning of this condo.

Bare, Bare Minimum

Place was clean but bare minimum. Half a roll of toilet paper, many light bulbs were out. No supplies ie dishwashing liquid/tabs, salt and pepper - nothing. Minimum kitchen stuff and quantities. Living room TV did not work - we even stayed in to have the repair guy come in, but still not fixed so we did not have a LR TV for our stay . No hooks in bathroom to hang towels or anything up. A bit of a disappointment for sure. Needs some TLC all around.

Can’t review the property because booking was cancelled!

I had received no information for checking in, which was weird because I knew it was a gated property. I reached out AFTER the listed check in time to ask how to check in and received a call from VRBO customer service about half an hour after I messaged the owner saying the owner had cancelled my reservation for a “property emergency,” leaving me scrambling to find somewhere to stay. I will say I did receive a full refund, and I understand accidents and emergencies happen. My frustration is that I had no communication from the owner about anything. No information prior to check in about anything and no communication from the owner that there was a potential emergency or delay with my check in.

Not bad.

Property just ok. Couldn’t figure out how to work tv. Owner did call but we weren’t there to fix. Not a huge deal but maybe leave directions? No booklet about the property either. Maybe a binder with Vista Cay amenities? Local restaurants? Hours of operation? How about leaving more than one trash bag? Small but odd detail, some of the wall furnishings were missing. One wall had a candle holder and the matching one one the other side of the wall was missing. Just screw holes. A mirror or picture was missing in the living room, just screw holes. Also there is nothing there like salt and pepper, oil etc. may not have used them but if you plan on cooking better stock up. Just minor stuff but overall a nice place.

Went downhill fast

We stayed at this property before a few years ago it was great. This time was different I’m not a clean freak but this place had issues. Having said that a little TLC and the place would be amazing. Base boards needed painting. No lights above the sink until I got some bulbs and put them in. Tv is way too confusing not to mention none of the remotes had batteries. No cushion’s on the patio furniture. Dining table as well as outside furniture needs to be replaced. The bed covers were dirty. The bed itself was horrible. I believe it might be just box springs. Very loud and uncomfortable. No I’m not exaggerating. I don’t blame the cleaning people they work hard this is a management issue. Normally I would never leave a review but there were so many issues.

Clean, Safe and Convenient

The condo was clean and as described. The check in process worked seamlessly and the distance to Universal Studios was as promoted. Spacious unit with three bedrooms and one pull out sofa. Needs more supplies. For example, only 4 water glasses for a unit that sleeps 8, limited towels and no sheets or blankets for pull out sofa. Very sparingly supplied.

Great property in a convenient location.

Great location 5 minute drive from the Orange County Convention Center and 5 minute walk to Publix and other retail. Corner unit so the east breeze cools you off on the porch. Porch chairs need to be replaced so you may need to bring or buy bag chairs. The property is as advertised and a fantastic find. Enjoy!

Supplies

For the amount of people staying more towels and hand towels are needed for the bathrooms. Also we only had two beach towels. Not near enough for the capacity of the place.

Good location, Large condo

This condo is pretty much as advertised. It is large with plenty of room for the 6 of us who stayed. It is next to a busier road, but the traffic was light during the night. The kitchen was stocked with minimal dishes, utensils, pans, etc. There weren't many storage containers for leftovers. Being advertised for sleeping 8, the amount of dishes and utensils was barely enough. There weren't many bathroom/pool towels either. The only "extras" provided was a small bar of soap in the bathroom. So you really do need to provide your own dish soap, dishwasher tablets, paper towels, toilet paper, coffee filters, etc. We weren't sent any check-in instructions and so I had to contact the owner for instructions. The instructions included the wrong exterior gate code - so another condo person let us in. Also the wi-fi password was missing a capital letter and so we couldn't log in at first. Both of these were figured out, but attention to these details would have made the check-in process run more smoothly. The pool cards were missing, but the owner contacted the front desk and we were provided with new cards. The pool was nice, but busy. The walk around the lake was nice. The location next to Publix was great. The location near Universal Studios and Sea World was very convenient. The living room furniture was comfortable and could seat the 6 of us. Also the dining room table was comfortable and could seat the 6 of us. We were happy to have a place to cook our own food and relax at the end of the day. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

The real story

The condo looks like the photos online. What you can’t see is most of the bulbs were out, the ceiling fan in the living room didn’t work, the 3rd bedroom was so hot that neither person could sleep comfortably, and no key to enjoy the pool. On a good note, the location was great, close to shopping (walking 2 minutes) and nice view.

Accomodating owner

We checked into the condo and were very disappointed as to the condition of various things like outdoor furniture, indoor furniture, refrigerator, etc. Contacted Mike and he was quick to find us another place. The second place was much, much better. However, it did have a few issues. The refrigerator could not be turned down, so we had a few things freeze. The handle on the refrigerator was also broken. The beds were very nice and comfortable and we were very close to the pool. Overall, it was a very nice experience.

Could use a little maintenance & TLC

My family stayed here for the Thanksgiving holiday. Check in was easy and owner accommodated our early arrival. The place was large and there was plenty of room for our group. The dining room table was perfect for our thanksgiving dinner. My only complaint is that the furniture on the balcony and in the bonus room are extremely worn and no one was able to sit on the balcony for their morning coffee or to watch the sunset. The chairs in the extra room were used, but we placed a towel over them due to the nature of the chair. We did not use any amenities as no keys were provided. I would recommend a walk through of the unit and replacement of some of the furniture to ensure 100% satisfaction with the unit.

Great place

Good communication, great place. TV randomly turns itself off and probably needs to be replaced, but we can watch TV at home! :). Very roomy and nice view of lake. Would stay here again!

Large, clean, convenient

Great stay! The property mgr provided clear instructions for access, and when we arrived we were surprised by how big it was. A corner unit on the 3rd floor, overlooking the lake. Plenty of light. We only had one small issue with a faucet, which Mike dealt with very quickly. It was very nice to be able to walk to Publix and Walgreens. We loved the community pool, hot tub and foozball table. We'd stay here again!

Excellent Location and Amenties

The unit we stayed in was large, comfortable and had a beautiful view overlooking the lake and sunset! All appliances were in excellent working order, and the unit had beautiful hardwood floors. The showers were great, strong, hot and spacious. The property owner was courteous and returned all concerns and calls immediately! We enjoyed our stay so much we will be returning next year. Central Location, Large Condo

Pros: location (4 mi from Universal, 15 min to Disney, everything in the condo was nice and comfortable, close to grocery and places to eat), size ( the Unit was large and everyone could find their own space), clean, bedding provided, towels provided (1 bath and 1 pool per person), the owner responded to all questions promptly, washer/dryer was full size...so many good things. The only things we can say negative was the Unit was loud at times-(morning yard work began most mornings about 7am, street noise is constant, the ceilings are tall and therefor everything in the Unit echos, you can hear the people upstairs) There are no bath mats, we felt uncomfortable stepping out of shower directly onto the beautiful floor. The furniture is wood- we found a few placemats but no coasters, we didn’t want to harm furniture. The Unit was so great and 5 adults and 2 teens loved it! Thanks for provided a great place an entire family can be together.

Easy access to all parks and Orlando!

What a great place to stay with our family of 6, one being a small child. The property was spacious, clean, walking distant to the grocery store and Walgreen's, and so close to the exit to drive to all of the parks. Michael was easy to contact and always got back to us with all of our questions. Will definitely stay here again!
