Waterfront House with picture-perfect views from all 3 levels.

Waterfront home with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. Main level has kitchen, living/family room, and half bath, with wall of windows overlooking Long Island Sound. There is seating for six adults on the patio furniture, with tables for snacks, drinks, and casual eating, along with a rolling cooler for drinks.

Second level main bedroom has a queen-size bed and brand-new en-suite full bathroom featuring walk-in shower, double sink vanity, and toilet. Views of the water from your bed, as if you're on a cruise ship.

Second level also has a "flex" space hang-out area, as well as full-sized washer and dryer.

Third level has two bedrooms, along with the second full bathroom. The front bedroom has two full-size beds. The rear bedroom has a queen-size bed and twin-size day bed with pull-out trundle for children, along with direct access to the water-facing balcony with seating for four.

Rental comes with plenty of beach towels, bath towels, and bed linens. Kitchen has all appliances, plus coffee makers (drip and Keurig) and toaster-oven, as well as cookware, plates, cups, silverware, and cooking utensils for up to eight guests. WiFi extends throughout the house to the patio and upper deck.

At high tide the water comes up to the seawall and stairs; at low tide the beach is exposed and you can walk out to nearby sandbars and islands as well as other nearby beach areas below the high-tide waterline.

Family Gathering

Jon & Carolyn’s waterfront vacation home has everything ( and I do mean everything) you need to create some of the most beautiful family memories. My parents ( who are in their 80s) walked through the door and could not stop commenting all through the week on how this amazing space was both beautiful and had so much attention to detail. They felt so much a part of each activity because it only required a few short steps to be on the patio playing a board game with the ocean as the backdrop, soaking up the sunshine, watching our grown up kids play wiffle ball at low tide, or taking in the multitudes of fireworks as we sat in the comfort of the patio. From breakfasts on the patio watching sunrise to grilled dinners & sunsets… we were in awe. The kitchen is well- appointed with every tool you need to entertain in style- right down to the Keurig which makes iced coffees ( so much fun) and the wheeled cooler that keeps your drinks ice cold on the patio within arms reach. The oversized patio umbrella was awesome and used frequently. The view from the top balcony is sublime…. Especially at night with the moons reflection on the water below. We loved the convenience of the outdoor shower & hose for rinse offs. The changing of the beach landscape from low/ high tide is super fun- at one point you feel like you are on a cruise ship surrounded by water and the next moment you have a private beach. Thank you Jon & Carolyn for the vacation that created forever memories!!!

Perfect Respite

This was the perfect location for a week’s getaway. The house is beautiful, and the hosts provide just about everything you need and even more you don’t know you needed! From coffee to shampoo, beach chairs and towels to puzzles and games, they see to every detail. The house is newly remodeled and has beautiful views of the ocean. Highly recommend!

Heaven on Earth

We stayed at this home 9 years ago, and since then Carolyn and Jon have done major improvements to this home. It is heaven on earth for us, being right on the water to hear the waves, splash against the shoreline. The sunrises & sunsets, along with the moon, never fail to provide natures show during our stay! Thank you Carolyn & Jon for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Birthday Weekend

We had an amazing weekend celebrating my husbands birthday. The house was perfect. The view was priceless. The beach was amazing. It was the first time we were able to travel with our dog, and he had the best time at the beach. We will be returning for another vacation for sure.

Great place

Beautiful water views and sunsets

Walks on the beach are wonderful during low tide. Our dog absolutely loved it. During high tide the water does come up to the stairs leading to the beach,which is kind of cool. The bed was comfortable. There was a bad storm during our stay which created some undesirable conditions. Mother nature can not be controlled. Jon and Carolyn were accommodating and kind by offering us partial compensation for something that was not their fault. Overall, with some minor inconveniences we enjoyed our stay and beautiful views of the water. I loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves.somecompensatcate

3 day weekend

We stayed in Saybrook for 3 day weekend for a wedding. Our home had spectacular views of the water. The house was roomy for all of us with 3 bedrooms, plenty of kitchen for several adults and bar and eating area.Our hosts provided helpful information through VRBO and written in the home. We would love to come back in the Summer.

The property was lovely. Beautifully renovated and very comfortable. Hosts were awesome. The location was excellent. We visited Niantic, Essex and Block Island. Walked the trails at Hammonasset Beach. Went to the Farmers Market in Chester and saw an amazing musical at The Goodspeed

Beautiful home. Great location. Great area. Can’t get any closer to the ocean! Friendly neighbors and people in the area! Amazing views! So clean and so nicely decorated! Hosts were the BEST!!! Gave us great ideas of where to go and places to eat! We loved walking the beach and the neighborhood! Sunrise and sunset were beautiful! Low tide is so cool to be able to walk pretty far out. Or just float. Will definitely stay here again!

Unsanitary and Unpleasant Experience

Despite the very nice neighborhood and proximity to the water, the house had some unpleasant and unsanitary issues the week my family stayed there. When we arrived on Sunday, the outdoor trash was completely full and not due for pickup until Friday. The kitchen trash had attracted a swarm of fruit flies, as did the kitchen sink. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes. The fridge water dispenser had some kind of leak we had to clean up. The third floor bathroom leaked water on the floor from a broken seal. The owner sent a plumber that required 2 visits and over 3 hours time to repair toilet. The second night my grandson saw a mouse run into the kitchen closet which we had to deal with. The next morning an offensive sewer smell started in the kitchen and soon permeated the premises. By late afternoon septic service was sent to pump out the septic system. Ants were present in the living room and had to be cleaned up. The cumulative effect of mouse, flies, ants, leaking toilet, smelly gas was truly unhygienic and nasty. It should also be noted, as others have, the house has safety issues for young children,as stairs are steep. The stairs outside leading to the water has no guardrail or gate before a steep drop.

July Family vacation

Beautiful house! Views from all three levels are really amazing. The patio outside has great lounge furniture and huge umbrella for shade. Kitchen was well equipped. Great full size grill outside. Everything we needed for a great vacation. We never left! Thanks Carolyn and Bob.

My family and I had a wonderful week at this beautiful Westbrook beach house. The ocean comes right up to the house; it’s like you’re on a cruise. All you can see is water from all 3 levels. Job and Carolyn were great and responsive hosts. We would absolutely consider renting again!

Fantastic!

This property was a fantastic shore getaway for my family. Wonderful location, could walk to grab a morning latte or a short drive just about anywhere. Low tide (and the few hours surrounding it) were perfect for playing on the beachfront and in the water. Great views from every level. My 2.5 yo and 4 yo had an amazing time. House was kid friendly. Kitchen had great amenities (and the best knives I’ve ever had in a rental!) Neighbors were friendly. Just a great vibe to the area. Wonderful, easy communication with the hosts with prompt responses. Wouldn’t change a thing!

Great Place to Relax

Our stay at this property was generally wonderful. The neighborhood is quiet and very walkable and there are grocery stores and restaurants within just a few miles. And Mystic CT and Essex CT (you have to stroll the Main Street shops in Essex) are a short car ride away. The star of the house is the view from the family room, back patio, 2nd floor bedroom, and the 3rd floor bedroom deck. So gorgeous. There was a glitch when we arrived and the owners were super nice and responsive. We worked things out very quickly. Just a few things to keep in mind. The bedroom on the second floor is spacious, has a full wall of windows showcasing the water and spectacular sunrises and sunsets, but its floors are warped/slanted. You cannot see it but you can feel it walking around the bedroom. The main bedroom on the top level is cozy and the outdoor deck off the bedroom is fantastic for watching birds on the water or just looking at the waves, but the third-floor bathroom is tiny. It works for one person, but it is tight. Lastly, as some other reviewers have noted, the home is right on a small beach but the tide makes the beach unusable for most of the day. So, if you are planning to walk the beach, you’ll have a short window to do so. But - in warm weather, you can still sit on the back patio facing the water and chill out even if the tide is too high to be on the beach. In summary, we had a very relaxing time!

60 th Birthday celebration!!🎈

My family and I stayed in this beautiful home for 3 nights for my Birthday. The home was exactly as shown . The view was spectacular!! The home was cozy and elegant.. it had everything we needed for the weekend - off the deck and you had your toes in the sand or in the water depending on the tide. I will have great memories of this weekend!❤️
