Internet didn't work for two days on my laptop and very spotty on my phone. The owner tried to fix it but didn't work. I missed work meetings and struggled finding a solution. I wanted to leave because internet is a basic service, and it was part of the contract. But the owner didn't agree to cancel my stay and wanted to just give me back 10% of my entire stay. I paid $1300 for 10 nights, that means she wanted to take all that despite that fact a basic essential service was not being provided. Absolutely unreasonable. I offered to pay and extra night so she would have another day to post, but also didn't accept that. Vbro didn't do anything about this. They had me on the phone for over 3h with 4 different people and told me at the end it was up to the owner /host. This is against their own policies (on their website). I will never rent from this company again. And we are likely going legal since my only solution was through my bank (California protects people from false advertisement).
In addition to the internet issue, which was impossible for me to accept, is is very difficult to park at night on the street and I didn't feel safe walking for 2-3 blocks to the apartment in that area. That's not advertised either. In general I didn't feel safe and my mind was not at ease there. The second morning sounds from the living room woke me up at 5am and I almost call 911. Despite of all this, the host only wanted for me to stay or anyway to be paid for 8 more nights.
