"We stayed here at the end of our trip and it was the perfect place to relax, enjoy the beautiful scenery and listen to the sounds of the surf and birds. Seth, Nuala and David all made a point of stopping by to see how we were settling in and it was lovely to read the history behind the creation of the villas. Cannot recommend this place enough - would still be there if we could ☺️"

"We loved our 4 days in Hurford. The place was small but comfortable and set in the most amazing beautiful garden! It was a good base to explore the area, great hiking in the Kataki range, lovely beach at Oakura. Only 20 mins from the Bowl of Brooklands where went to a concert. Highly recommend "

"Very handy to the shops in Oakura. Quiet interior with double glazed windows. Beach an easy 10-minute walk around the corner. Top spot!"

"Grounds are immaculate. Great view of the bush/river. Comfy bed. Good water pressure. Manager was fantastic. Good location (7 mins from New Plymouth by car). Quiet, safe. Can bike safely to New Plymouth ( sidewalk to round about on state highway 3 then side street with on road cycle path). Restaurant with yummy food on site. Things that could be better: Had only one BBQ so you need to reserve it in advance. Great stay and definitely a place I would go back. "

"Beautiful spotless accommodation, didn’t want to leave. The kitchen was closed as they were painting which was a shame. A good excuse to go back."

"Soundproofing inadequate. Lots of noise from other guests arriving late/leaving early. Beds a little on the soft side for me."
