"I’m a dedicated Marriott: Bon Voy member. I’ve traveled the globe staying at Ritz Carlton locations for decades. Upon arrival the check in was very smooth and was greeted respectfully by the front desk. During my stay the coffee shop located un lobby had the entire system go down so could serve guests. The service pool side and their drinks were exceptionally poor. The tv in the room didn’t work and when explaining I was offered points as a solution. "I stay in a lot of Res Inns. The staff was cheerful and supportive, but a couple of things struck me as below the Marriott standard. I spent 10-15 minutes the in room iron, trying to get it working to press a shirt for the next morning changing outlets only to discover the iron was broken. I also discovered one of the outlets (a horizontal one on top of a desk) wasn’t anchored and when I tried to unplug the iron the whole outlet box came off. "We booked at the last minute due to flight delays, I thought it was going to be much closer to DFW than it was and also assumed the free shuttle advertised on the Expedia page ran 24/7. It was non refundable and as soon as we booked it we called to ask for the shuttle to pick us up and that’s when they said it’s only 8am-8pm. Uber was $65 at night to the hotel. The room was non smoking but smelled so much like smoke in the entrance and bathroom. Beds were very comfortable large and clean....
