"Clean hotel, good breakfast, and central location "

"Our stay here was surprisingly enjoyable. Despite the rave reviews online, our first impression of the hotel was not stellar. It looked quite dated, the room was a bit dark and tiny, the mattress a bit stained etc. However, once we got settled in, discovered the facilities, including the rooftop outdoor onsen, free ramen, ice cream etc. we actually thought it was a very cozy and well-located place to stay for our stay in Matsumoto. "Room was clean and spacious. Bathroom contained ingenious plumbing devices for convenience and best use of space. Public bath was nice and we'll maintained. Jinbei and slippers provided. Front desk was courteous and professional, check in was quick and easy. Location is close to train and bus terminal. "

"Fantastic service from staff, nice hotel with everything included in terms of japanese style and culture. Nice options for private onsen, hot bath and massage treatments as well. Breakfast and dinner in private room at restaurant and the menu was traditionel japanese, well prepared and organized. I fully recommend this hotel"

"Everyone was so polite and I love the eco consciousness. The breakfast buffet has great choices. No need to bring pajamas, facial care, q-tips, brush/comb, toothbrush/toothpaste, plus the usual soap and shampoo/conditioner. There are a few washer/dryers on-site but there is also a laundromat across the street if none are available (they even have a dedicated washer for shoes!). I didn’t try it but there are separate onsens on-site (female and male). Very short walk to Ueda station so great...
