The Garrandarragh Inn was one of the best surprises we had during our 17 day visit to Ireland. The Inn is an historic building but our room was modern and very well appointed. My wife got turned around in the hallway and must have looked lost. The owner of the hotel escorted her to the right room and talked with us for 20 minutes. Could not have been nicer.

Comfortable stay
Really friendly and helpful staff. Huge room. Clean. Plenty of shampoos, body wash, water, tea and coffee. Good, reasonably priced breakfast - go full Irish.

Great Staff, Great Breakfasts, Nice place to stay
The staff at the Inn were wonderfully cheerful! Breakfasts were great, and the old part of the Inn was beautiful. There was a plumbing issue that necessitated us moving to another room for the second night of our stay. The rooms were big and comfortable.

Great Inn. Newly renovated with all the necessary amenities. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Greater us with a hardy handshake and took time to show us the layout of the Inn and our room. The pub was cozy and inviting and the food was outstanding. Would book again in a heartbeat. You will not be disappointed.

A perfect spot
We really enjoyed our stay. The welcoming was perfect. We ate our dinner in the restaurant. We really enjoyed it and were very sorry it was completely booked for the second night. The Internet said the other restaurants in town were closed but they weren't and there is a little Centra and it is on a bus route and close to walking trails. A great find after being in busy, noisy tourist spots.

Highly Recommended -- Unique Experience!
Its a very unique experience, very Irish. The owner extremely helpful, staff friendly and Irish breakfast was terrific. Rooms very well appointed a surprise due to the age of the building. Highly recommended!

We had a great stay. The building is from the 17th century and full of history. The rooms are very nice and recently renovated with lots of amenities like a heated floor in the bathroom and air conditioning. Very nice place to stay and near lots of sites to visit.

This is a very quaint property that provided a wonderful nights stay for us on our trip to Ireland. The room was spacious with a lovely, updated bathroom. Mattress was quite firm (which I liked, but my husband did not!). Had an excellent dinner, breakfast and apple pie in the adjoining restaurant. Its a small little town and for us was convenient to our overall travel plans. Plenty of parking.

We are booked out all the time you booked the family room which had 3 beds it was the only room available its a 4 star room suitable for 4 persons, it is air conditioned, underfloor heating Netflix etc but it cost more as you were only two persons.

The staff went above the highest level of expectation to assure that our every need was met. The dining facility associated with the Inn was remarkable and kept the character of its age with delicious food. We returned to it a second night. The staff even helped us secure lodging for the next night when they did not have a vacancy. HIGHLY recommend for anyone traveling in south County Kilkenny, Ireland.

What is not to like about a 600 year old modernized inn??? Everything was perfect - we were even given a choice of rooms based on our desires - would recommend it to anyone

Fantastic room, great food and very friendly.
The room was superb, with a big walk in shower and toiletries supplied. There was a really comfortable table and chairs by the window which was lovely with the sun streaming on to it in the evening as I had some work to catch up on. Multiple sockets and USB charging points at convenient places around the room. Good WiFi with a private log in for each room. Plenty of tea and coffee available. The friendliest service I have ever encountered. I was there for two nights and the room had been cleaned and was immaculate when I returned in the evening. The substantial dinner in the evening was fresh and tasty. I really recommend this place. However, be aware that breakfast is not served until 9.00am. I was on a business trip so had to leave well before then which was disappointing because the breakfast had great reviews and judging by the evening meal I imagine they were accurate. There is also no guest lounge and as a single woman walking into the bar it felt a little like stepping back into the 1970s. The old boys seemed a little startled to see a woman on her own and were rather keen to make friends! Having said that, the Guinness was of course delicious and if I hadn't been going into dinner I would have been very comfortable relaxing in my room. Overall, not to be missed and recommended.

Yes, you are correct 9 AM is too late for breakfast and I am now changing this to 8 AM.As an Archaeologist I thought you would recognise the pub for what it is and what we are so proud of its not 1970 you are stepping back to but 1644.Richard Hayes

If you’re looking for an authentic Irish experience, this is the place for you! The young ladies working the reception and bar / restaurant were the friendliest around. Local hospitality at its finest! There are a lot of quirks in the layout of the Inn and the rooms could use some updates, including newer beds, but the atmosphere and kindness made up for all of that.

Fabulous staff, really friendly. Food was very good , 3 of us ate an evening meal and we were all very impressed. We had two rooms which were both super and with all the little extras. Would recommend this as a place to stay and really hope to stay here again in the future.

By far, the nicest inn that we stayed in on our trip! The innkeeper and staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Being lovers of history and old homes, we were in awe over the beautiful stonework. The rooms were beautiful and the pub was magical….taking you back to the early 1600s when the inn was built. We can’t wait to go back!

Struttura in posizione stategica per il nostro tour. Belle camere ristrutturate di recente. Ci hanno assegnato una camera con balcone (molto gradito). Bella doccia e letto comodo. Molto pulito con wifi in camera (oltre che in generale nell'hotel). Pub sottostante molto carino, ottima cena. accoglienza ottima.

Loved staying here… the atmosphere was welcoming , staff so friendly and hard working… checkin was easy and shown to room and heating wifi etc explained … Breakfast was fantastic and although we only had a light dinner it was tasty and hit when served … would love to stay again… such a beautiful place to stay ….

Things we enjoyed: - the rooms are clean, modern, and well-maintained. - our bathroom/washroom was large and could hold multiple people at one time. - the A/C was a nice surprise - the food at the Inn was superb - the employees went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable in our rooms and enjoying the food and drinks in the pub. Things to be aware of: - we had booked this location primarily because one of the stated amenities was laundry service. Despite inquiring, I did not receive an answer as to whether we could wash our clothes. - the hallways of the inn and the check-in area are dated but the rooms are modern. Do not let this first impression fool you.

I don't know who you are as you signed Anonymous.We do not have a laundry service can you tell me where you saw that, I hope that laundry was not the only reason you were going to stay with us but overall I am glad you enjoyed your stay.
