It is removed from easy access to activities in the area, other than the outdoor sculpture park, which is EXTREMELY worth a visit, but it was a beautiful location to spend a peaceful break in the midst of the big cities on our itinerary. "Vi havde kun en enkelt overnatning i et traditionelt japansk værelse. Det er et rigtigt fint hotel (rent og pænt)! Der var rigtig god service i receptionen hvor receptionisterne var rigtigt venlige og hjælpsomme!
Vi havde bestilt morgenmad med, hvilket var en oplevelse! Vi er nok ikke så meget til traditionel japansk morgenmad (med bland andet ris, fisk og misosuppe) - men det var virkelig godt og rigtigt fint at prøve!
Desuden ligger der et busstop lige udenfor hotellet, hvilket gjorde...

Breakfast Buffet wasn’t in our taste, and didn’t seem very delicious. Few western choice that tasted well, but a lot of options if you are into the Japanese breakfast style.

A bit outside of Hakone but a great location for folks who need to stay away from the city and people. The small town/ Sengokuhara is also great - a ton of museums and good restaurants. All walking distance. "

When opening the door to the room, we were met with an awful odor, best described as a mix of filth and enclosed dirty moist laundry. The futons were nice though, but the open air hot spring is not open air. It is just a tub that does not get emptied after use - and it is not outdoor. There is no way to get fresh air into the room, since the only window is facing the "open air bath", so you get all the most humid air right back into the room, and the tub is so noisy, we couldn't even sleep with the window open. There was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom, and the walls had dirty stains on them as well - to pricy to be this filthy. We had breakfast and dinner included, and they did switch the menu on night number two, but is was traditional Japanese cuisine, and did not quite fall into out taste, but it looked like the locals enjoyed it. And there was way too much food. We did not have a chance to try the public onsen, since we have tattoos, so I can say if it was good or bad. The staff was nice, and even though they did not speak English well (some of them not at all) we managed to communicate, and they did a great job. I don't think I will recommend this place to other people."
