The space
Located in popular South Melbourne and so close the city, beach and Melbourne’s premier park, Albert Park this well-presented home in a quiet street offers a sanctuary of style and sophistication in inner bayside Melbourne.

This heritage, late 19th century (built 1875 and front half of house is original), Victorian home retains all the allure of the era with its period features whilst providing, spacious light-filled spaces ideal for a comfortable lifestyle with all the modern amenities.

The appeal of this home begins at the front door with its classically elegant front façade which is further enhanced inside by the traditional arched hallway with cornice and a collection of original artwork, by an established Australian artist.

The timber floored hall opens on to two beautiful bedrooms. The front queen bedroom with street outlook has a Victorian fireplace and built in wardrobe. The second double bedroom with clothes rack and desk has a private, light and leafy light court outlook.

The bathroom with shower over a deep bath has delightful natural light and a convenient laundry. A washing machine, drying rack, iron and ironing board is provided.

Down the hall, at the rear, a wide, sun-drenched open plan kitchen/dining/living area looks out on to the courtyard. The living room features a large comfortable couch, Smart TV with Netflix, Binge and Amazon Prime, a Sonos sound system and a stylish wall unit with a collection of books and treasured objects.

The fully equipped chef’s kitchen with a central stone granite benches has quality appliances, a gas cooktop, dishwasher, Smeg coffee machine, Alessi kettle and a well-stocked pantry.

The dining area right next to the kitchen comfortably seats four, while three stools accompany the bench.

The rear living room’s French doors open to a private deck that is ideal for al fresco dining and entertaining. For outdoor living and relaxing the deck has a stylish outdoor table setting for six and a barbeque. The rear courtyard is perfect for dining and relaxing in the sun with fabulous produce from the famous South Melbourne Market nearby.

Ducted heating throughout and air-conditioning keeps the home comfortable year-round.

Step out the front door and convenient, free, all-day parking is available using the visitor parking permit provided.

The route 1 and 12 trams conveniently travels past nearby departing roughly every 12 minutes, with both tram stops only 100m away.

The location abounds with history. Walk the nearby streets and discover the stunning historic architecture and why South Melbourne is so special. The stunning, historic 1880’s South Melbourne Town Hall is a short walk as is the ever popular South Melbourne Market.

Step out the door and around the corner is Clarendon Street with its shops, cafes and restaurants. Guests are just metres from several pubs and all the cafés and culture of the popular South Melbourne scene. Coffee aficionados must visit these three outstanding specialists: Chez Dre Café, St.Ali Coffee Roasters and Cottle on Coventry.

No visit to South Melbourne is complete without a visit to the famous nearby South Melbourne Market that is just 800 metres away. The variety and quality of food is fantastic and the bargains are brilliant.

You’re just a short walk to Melbourne’s premier sport and recreation park in Albert Park with its stunning lake and panoramic cityscape view. A walk around the lake is a must. Visit the ever-popular Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC) with its 6 pools, wave pool and giant slide. It is only a few tram stops to the entertainment and cinemas at nearby Crown Casino.

The route 1 tram (South Melbourne beach to East Coburg), the Route 12 tram (St.Kilda to Victoria Gardens, Richmond) and route 95 (St.Kilda to East Brunswick) are all just a short walk from the front door.

Catch the route 1 tram north to Carlton’s popular Lygon Street with its famous and popular Italian restaurants. Along the way pass the Malthouse Theatre, the Melbourne Recital Centre, Victoria’s Arts Precinct, the Yarra River, Federation Square, Melbourne city, the State Library, RMIT University and the University of Melbourne. Or head south via Albert Park to the ever-popular South Melbourne Beach.

A visit to the stylish Albert Park shopping strip in Bridport Street, a walk around the exclusive, expensive heritage homes of the area and a visit to the South Melbourne beach are also a must. Head to the beach at sunset for amazing bay views then stop on the way back for dinner in Victoria Avenue.

The route 12 tram travels south to ever popular St.Kilda, a favourite Melbourne tourist destination with its beach, pier with Little Penguins and the historic, iconic family fun park, Luna Park. On the way you will pass the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre. Or head north via Clarendon Street past Crown Casino, Southern Cross Station (the gateway to most Victorian destinations), down Collins Street to Melbourne city with its many tourist attractions and out through Richmond with its many popular Vietnamese restaurants to the terminus at Victoria Gardens.

The nearby route 96 tram is Melbourne’s most popular tram route. Like route 12, heading south, the 96 passes through Albert Park, Middle Park and Fitzroy Street, St.Kilda, past St.Kilda Pier, St.Kilda Beach, Luna Park and terminates in popular Acland Street, St.Kilda which is famous for its cafes and cakes. Heading north it will take you to Crown Casino, Southern Cross Station and down Bourke Street through the city. Along the way it passes the Victorian Parliament and the Melbourne Museum before terminating in Brunswick East.
