"The property was clean and the deluxe room spacious. It was basic but clean. The pillows marginal but bed comfortable. The outdoor seating area was very small but good for a quick meal outside for a group of 2-4. We did not use the pool area. The ice machine was working and helpful. The coffee situation was only in the room in a mini pot without a decaf option. There is no breakfast option. Walking within 2 blocks of several restaurants and shops. Was tourist area pricing ( high) for amenities."

"From the outside it looks like a nice place, the room was clean but there were ants in the bathroom. There was a fridge in the closet but no microwave, the room was dark as there is only one lamp on the nite table. The room is sadly lacking ac outlets and no lamp near the table. We have never seen a coffee pot like the one there, when you pour the coffee it leaks out over everything, also there was only one pack of coffee, we had to go ask for more. "Worst stay ever. The room had a strong unpleasant odor, and the heater was not working properly. Despite the cold weather, the room never got warm enough, making the stay very uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the shower curtain and curtain rod were already broken when we arrived, which showed a lack of maintenance and attention to basic room upkeep. Overall, the hotel did not meet even basic expectations for comfort and cleanliness. I would not stay here again."

"The room was spacious and had a nice view of the lake. I couldn't get a good night's sleep because it was so loud. Not that there were loud people, but because the building is so old and poorly insulated that you can hear everything happening in other rooms like it's in your room."

We stayed at the budget inn and they make it very clear through the booking and on the lobby door of the budget inn that you checkin/out at the Thunderbird Inn next door. "Not what pictures portray. Living in Michigan my entire life I think all of mackinaw city has depleted in cleanliness and price gauging. We booked a “superior room” which means nothing like the photos. We were told it’s just a standard queen with a water view balcony. "We booked our stay at this hotel and found it to be in a great location for shopping and eating. The real issue is the facilities are outdated and the place needs to be renovated. Our toilet was not mounted properly, the wall paper was poorly maintained and the overall decor of the room was extremely dated. The beach access was nice, but there needs to be better maintenance of the area and lounge chairs on the beach. We will not be staying here again in the future, unless they put some money...

"Very fine hotel for a short stay. The city is very little and not much to see other than take the ferry to the island. The hotel is right in front the ferry, probably 200 meters away. The personal very helpful and friendly. The hotel is old but the room, bathroom and beds very clean. That is all what we were looking for , as we have been away all day , came back to sleep and departed the day after ."
