"We had a lovely warm welcome from Morag. Our room was lovely and comfortable. Morag shared with us local recommendations for eating out. Our morning started off with the most delicious Scottish breakfast. We would highly recommend a stay at The Hightae Inn."

"Easy to find near Dumfries and a nice break into Scotland at the start of our journey. Room was clean and comfortable, and we had the one nearest the ramp so didn't have to climb steps. Room was a bit dark, but easy to move around in, and had sufficient power outlets so we could charge our phones without a problem. Dinner was very good and the owner introduced me to a new ale that i hadn't tried before... great recommendation! We also found out he was the local postmaster, and let us confirm...

"Recently refurbished, rooms were clean and fresh and kept the original features of the property. Bathroom was lovely and bath a great size although did miss the option of grabbing a quick shower. Bathroom needs a blind or curtain please otherwise stunning room."

"My wife and I stayed here for one night 20-8-26, the place is really easy to find, located in a village out in the countryside a few miles from Carlisle. Everything about the place is great, the food, the beer, the location and car parking. Best of all are the staff, really friendly and helpful. We will be staying here again on our way home from Scotland in a week and am looking forward to it. The coked breakfast is huge and really good, as is the porridge.
