Did not get the room I booked for and paid extra to get. When I mentioned it to the old chap on reception he said they have no rooms available, but the car park was not full! I had arrived late and find this hard to believe. He said they would sort something in the morning and he would leave a note. I explained to a lady with dark hair on reception Maria was her name and she was not sympathetic or understanding and giving off an angry vibe. Just some advice for you go on a hospitality course! Our company will now not be staying at your hotel because of you. 3 of our staff have mentioned you to me for other reasons. So in a nutshell I didn’t get a refund for the room and finger crossed none of you encounter the wrath of Maria!

We arrived late in the evening with a young child, the check in process was simple and we were in our room in no time at all. The hotel was very clean, and extremely quiet over night given how busy the hotel was. The staff at breakfast were attentive and very friendly, overall a lovely stay, and I'd highly recommend

Some staff I encountered were friendly while others were not. When we bought treats we had to wait for the front desk staff to return, and it seemed their either hate their job, or we were an inconvenience to them. It’s also strange that children under the age of 16 have to be accompanied IN the pool. It was upsetting that my son couldn’t use the pool because I couldn’t go in the water.

This was a great base for an event nearby. It was clean and tidy, quiet and friendly. Has its own restaurant and plenty of places to eat nearby. We enjoyed our stay.

Poor food spoilt weekend
Warm welcome from reception staff, room was spacious, clean and bed very comfortable. The window frame was black with some damp stains. The bar and restaurant staff were great. Ludya was our server both nights and very attentive and helpful. We had to complain about the cooking of a steak and a steak sandwich which the meat was more than well done. I had a plant based burger and it was flavourless and the bun was chewy. Breakfast was good but overall the food was not of a standard that matched the price charged. Food also took a long time to arrive. There was one server who joked inappropriately saying did my husband want a bib like her children because she had heard me comment to him when some cheesecake fell of his spoon. If I needed to stay here again I would go out to eat somewhere local.

Initial appearnces can be deceiving
Hotel looked lovely on arrival. Check in was good but was charged again for rooms when we had already payed. Thgis was rectified but surely they should have had a record of this. The kettle in the room didnt work. The cold tap in the bath didnt work. There were marks on the bathroom mirror. The general feel was if the room had been serviced before our arrival it hadnt been done properly.

Comfortable hotel.
Comfortable hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. BUT.... Unhappy that they charged £100 to my debit card on arrival, and then the full cost of the stay on departure as well. I wasn't told that the £100 would take 5 days to be refunded, until I rang after seeing both charges on my bank statement. Not happy with this, and will be unlikely to stay again.

Stayed here over Christmas from the 24th to the 27th 1st night went down to the bar for a single whisky this came to £12 came down Later for single whisky and a pint came to £12.01 so watch for this, my booking was also with breakfast which i had everyday except from the last day as they said i wasnt on the breakfast list knowing fine well i was, they were just wanting more money, my dad stayed over on the 25th to the 27th his room was 231 and ceiling in bathroom half falling down plus they tried the breakfast trick with him too. Saying he wasnt on the list even though he payed extra to get breakfast.
