Located near both the A38 and A30 for great access, this charming, detached 18th-century farmhouse is full of character and original features, making it a perfect retreat for large or extended families, couples, and friends. Set within 17 acres of enchanting woodland and meadow, the property offers exclusive fishing rights along the River Fowey, renowned for its salmon and trout. Conveniently located near the A30, you’ll have easy access to popular destinations such as Looe (10 miles) and Fowey (14 miles). Guests can wander through 17 acres of picturesque woodland and meadow or enjoy fishing along the River Fowey, known for its excellent salmon and trout. Its proximity to the A30 and A38 makes it easy to visit tourist spots including Looe (10 miles) and Fowey (14 miles). There’s something here for everyone within 10 miles of home - whether you’re marvelling at the exotic flora and fauna of the Eden Project, or visiting the National Trust’s impressive late Victorian country house at Lanhydrock, 5 miles away, to explore the house, gardens and parkland.
Step inside through the custom-made solid oak front door, and immediately you are hit with the character and cosiness of this beautiful cottage. The lounge is welcoming with its uneven walls, spectacular low beams and splendid original inglenook fireplace with a wood burner. It’s the perfect spot to curl up on an evening on the comfortable sofas while watching TV. Next door is the large kitchen/diner, which offers a great sociable space to entertain with its large dining table and chairs. You also have access to the rear patio from here via a stable-type door. Moving back out to where you started, you’ll find a king-size bedroom with a feature inglenook fireplace, and a shower room that can be accessed across the small hallway. Stairs lead up to a sweet single bedroom with another pull-out bed underneath, perfect for a child. Two further bedrooms – a king-size and a twin – offer plenty of natural light from the south-facing windows. Completing this floor is the large family bathroom with a separate shower.
The front of the cottage is a real sun trap. Benches offer a great spot for watching the birds or listening to the sound of the river. A BBQ and outdoor dining furniture make it a great spot to enjoy meals alfresco. There is also a gravelled seating area and a small private lawn to enjoy. You’ll find ample parking in the shared car park.
