"The apartment offers excellent value for the price you pay."

"For relatively new building rooms are not maintained very well. I had to change 3 rooms on my stay of 7 days. The 1st room, the toilet seat was completely broken, the 2nd room was smelling mold and was visible on the wall. This is a health hazard but the management didn't care to rent it. The 3rd half of the ceiling lights were not working. Electric outlets were bad only one working properly."

"The stay was good. It could have had more staffing to improve communication and organization."

"The hotel told me they could not honor the payment I made through hotels.com and they asked me to pay them directly. In the end I was double billed for the same stay. I would strongly recommend avoiding this hotel if you go to Addis Ababa. I am a platinum member and long time customer of hotels.com but I am no longer going to use them after this trip. They should not be advertising such shady hotels on their site. "

"Hotel staff are very friendly, always ready to render assistance"

When we purchased food at the restaurant we had difficulty charging to the room and it seems that they don't provide that service. We opted not to stay at the Melka for our entire trip solely because of the...

"Overall, this is one of the better hotels I have stayed at in Addis Ababa. The staff are excellent, the hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious, and breakfast offers a good variety of choices. However, there are a few areas that need attention to bring the hotel up to the standard its other facilities and services suggest. The parking garage is quite tight, making it difficult to enter and exit comfortably. Improving the accessibility and maneuverability of the parking area would be helpful....

"The best part of this hotel is the staff. I was there for almost 3 weeks and the staff is so incredible kind and caring. They are the gem of this place. The hotel itself is pretty standard. They have everything you need including a very lovely spa and 2 restaurants. It gets a bit loud on the weekends because of the live music in the downstairs bar so if you are sensitive to sound, I recommend getting a room on the left side of the building - towards Bole road and away from the parking lot and...
