I was drawn to the property by the great photos of the original restaurant. It is a log constructed building that is beautiful. The additional bar was built to look like the old restaurant and almost made it. The motel rooms, although comfortable, have no relation to any of the rustic architecture of the original restaurant.
The other reason I tried this place to stay is that the way they presented it on Expedia was that it was a hop skip and a jump to Leavenworth. It is about 15 miles west of downtown, and those 15 miles are not an easy drive, especially in the dark.
When I booked my reservation, I could have had most any motel in Leavenworth on the river for the same price.
Unfortunately we were disappointed.
