"I was going to be there one day but was there for a couple days. The staff was wonderful and the restaurant was very good. It is a quiet oasis in Paso Canoas and if you find yourself having to stay at the border , it is a great option."

"This hotel is located in a beautiful town in the mountains with an elevation of about 3500. The place is operated by a very nice couple. I stayed here with my wife and one of our sons. We really enjoyed the stay. There is a BBQ restaurant just across the street from the hotel. We had dinner there and loved it as well. "

"What a wonderful place and could not have been in a better location in proximity to the beach and town. All gratitude and love for the hosts. There is an ice bath on the premises which was welcomed almost daily after each surf session. Thank you so much. Can’t wait to come back. Pura Vida!"

"There are vacations, and then there are vacations. This place is about as unique as they come. A few things to be aware of. First the drive from the Airport is a 7 hour drive. Be prepared for that. Once you arrive to the climb in the mountains, it can be rough. Be sure to rent the right vehicle for that. It can be a challenge to find it in the dark. Once there, it’s an absolute paradise. "This resort provides an authentic "forest" experience while at the same time making sure all one's needs are taken care of. Dining is surprisingly good (my husband is a gourmet chef so he should know) as is the service! We couldn't ask for more but got it thanks to the friendliness of the owners. "Our stay at Pavones Point was perfect! The location is right at the top point of Pavones surf break. Walk right across the road and paddle out…or walk a little down to the right for a bit less intense wave. The condo was clean and spacious…had everything we needed. Clean towels, comfortable beds, coffee maker, toaster, blender. No salt or pepper and no trays if you plan on making bacon or roasting anything. And no full length mirrors but the location makes up for that!"

"Beautiful rainforest property with good birding opportunity, birds song, cicadas, and frogs, but "touristy", so the natural vibe gets ruined. It seems they cater to tour groups, so not very private or queit. Have to pay for 3 meals a day but on their schedule that's too late for serious birding and not as healthy as I'd prefer. I travel solo and do not enjoy sitting by myself or wasting time I could be out finding birds sitting in a restaurant. I go ut birding before daybreak so, lunch as late...
