"I gave this hotel 5 stars, mainly because the woman who managed the place. I booked this on hotels.com, and there are many amenities listed that do not exist. There is no bar, even though there is a menu in the room advertising beer for sale. I also saw no bikes for use, and the airport transportation was the manager arranging a taxi for you. "We had a wonderful stay! The hotel was pretty, clean and situated in calm surroundings and the staff was extremely kind and helpful. They served a delicious complimentary breakfast of our own choosing. The only small downside was that it was a bit far to walk to the city center since the bamboo bridge was closed due to construction. "It was a great stay at Cold River. The staff made us feel very welcome and at home. They very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located nicely if you are ready for a little walk to get to the center of Luang Prabang (maybe 10-15 min. walk). It is nice that it is more by itself - quiet and peaceful. Great breakfast. The only thing was the hard pillows - but minor detail."

"We loved our stay. The location is so cute, and close to town center with night markets and temples(with the monk giving ceremony). The staff here is amazing, we were treated with so much kindness. We booked activities through them and rides and they had lots of information. The breakfast was light but also very yummy. The rooms are not very sound proof, you can sometimes hear other people walking above. But We loved staying here. Highly recommend"

"何度目かの滞在。見知ったスタッフが迎えてくれる。ツアーの勧誘も無ければ観光案内も無い。いい意味でほったらかし。でも部屋の清掃や備品の補充などはきちんとやってくれる。朝食はヌードルや焼き飯、トーストやパンケーキなど10種類ぐらいからの選択。飲み物もマンゴーシェイクやコーヒーなど。これにフルーツの盛り合わせも付くのでお腹いっぱい。一番安い105の部屋は狭いし窓からの眺望も全く無いけれど快適。昼間もフロントは空っぽだったり夜も遅くなると扉が閉められていて寝ているスタッフを起こしたりしなければならないことも。朝の托鉢を見に行こうとしたらまだスタッフが寝ていて自分で勝手に扉を開けて出かけたりも。コーヒーは近くのサフランコーヒーが美味しい。朝市を見た後にコーヒーを飲むのが日課だった。過剰なサービスも無ければ設備もないけれどまったりした時間が過ぎるのを忘れるような滞在が楽しめる。"
