Beautiful hill-top location overlooking the valley below with very friendly service. You'll be surprised at the narrow but fun and lovely road that leads down to the hotel. Dinner was really nice, however I found that breakfast did not feel as good quality as the dinner (for instance very watered down juices), considering this was a 4 star hotel. (It's a bit of a shame there are so many powerlines that pass through the area and obstruct the view a bit).

Smuk hotel i smukke omgivelser
Dejligt hotel i smukke smukke omgivelser. Vi rejste med tog, og det var lidt upraktisk at komme til hotellet/eller ned i byen. Det kostede 8-10Euro pr. vej. Det er klart en fordel at komme med bil - det gør det også nemmere at besøge vingårdene i området.

Super hoteloplevelse
En oplevelse at køre til hotellet. Bil en nødvendighed. Super mad på hotellet til rimelig pris. Dog kan man først i løbet af eftermiddagen få oplyst, hvilken menu du kan få denne dag. Dette burde kunne oplyses dagen før. Rigtig god service fra personalet, der er venlige og rigtig gode til engelsk. Fantastisk udsigt fra poolområdet.

Fantastisk hotel i midt i vinmarkerne
Super godt hotel med meget venligt personale. Rent og pænt og med lækker tagterasse med pool. Og så ovenikøbet i det smukkeste område. Der er behov for bil, hvis man skal til Peso da Regua.

Very nice hotel in the heart of wine country
Nice, clean, new and modern hotel situated with a lovely view over the valley (except the power lines), but with touches of the old. We stayed there for a few nights and used it as a base to explore the douro valley and wineyards in the area. The area is quiet and a bit out of the way but we liked this more private feel to the place. The staff was very helpful with recommendations and bookings and good level of english. The hotel restaurant had very nice locally inspired food and excellent service and wines. Would stay here again!

It’s located in the mountain side, breakfast with cold cut, eggs and bacon with the valley view. Staffs were nice and helpful. Recommend to all travellers who plan for Douro area.

The building is beautiful and it’s set in the most stunning surroundings. You can really relax here. It is out of town but taxis are easy if you don’t have a car and you get the incredible views. Also thought the breakfast was the best and loved our dinners in the restaurant.

The hotel is a very good base to explore the Alto Douro region. Is close to Lamego, Régua and to other wineries. The food is very good and the staff is very attentive and helpful. We stay for 2 nights and it was quite enjoyable.

Great stay! We had an awesome time. Stay is really friendly and welcoming. We did the wine tasting which was excellent! Rooms are upscale and clean. The hotel is up to date and well furnished.

It’s obvious after our stay why this property is much cheaper than some of its peers-you definitely get what you pay for. Some noteworthy info: 1. Check in front desk person was quite rude and uninviting when we checked in 2. Room was fine with the exception of a large crack in the bathroom wall and the light on the porch didn’t turn off which required us to shut curtains fully and not enjoy sunrise 3. Dining experience was pretty atrocious for dinner-it’s clear they are going for “fine dining” with the pricing and style but several elements made it fall below this. The (inside) restaurant was covered in flies and bugs-at the end of the night there were 10 bugs in my wine and no server acknowledged the diners aggressively swatting or covering their food and drink to prevent this. The veal was hammered-extremely over cooked. As others have mentioned the vegetables (though artfully arranged) were clearly canned and disgusting at a time when fresh vegetables were very much in season. The worst and most expensive meal on our trip. 4. The views as others have mentioned were marred by power lines but as we are not a couple that enjoys an off the grid experience and does enjoy the modern convenience of electricity we cannot fault the hotel for this. I would recommend this property strip it back to basics and improve staff training and attitude, address the huge bug/pest problem, and focus on improving the quality of food and less on the artfulness of it.

This property has the most lovely views of the Douro Valley wine country; superb. The rooms and dining facility are very comfortable, as is the lounge and outdoor pool, on top of the building. Unfortunately, the food was not so great, very bland and a limited menu for dinner (only two choices, neither our favorite) and poorly prepared. That is the main reason for our lower rating for this facility.

The views from this property are amazing. If you like hiking/walking, there is a lovely view of the Douro River Dam at the top of the Vinyard. You might have the friendly (outside) dog, Oreo, accompany you.

Boa estadia
Foi uma boa estadia. Hotel muito bem decorado, limpo, confortável. No entanto, optei pelo jantar, mas foi um pouco decepcionante. Pedi um prato com filé suíno, mas tanto a apresentação do prato quanto a quantidade realmente deixaram a desejar, principalmente pelo valor pago. Esperava algo mais elaborado e não era nada demais. O café da manhã também é bem simples para o porte do hotel.
