Booked and paid via hotels.com - but upon arrival the hotel could not see this in their system and forced us to pay directly to them also. Did not have other options than doing this - but assumed they would refund once their error was clear. Many e-mails later and we are still waiting"

"Do not choose best western Jaco. There was no decent food except for limited fruit at the buffet. Everything was overcooked and bland. The bartender at one of the bars was very kind, and the only upside was the open bar. The hotel is outdated and if the A/C unit Isn’t keeping you awake then the music blasting until midnight will. When entering the hotel you feel like you have gone back 20 years in time and nothing has been maintained since. The A/C sounded like it was about to fall out and was so noisy and old. Not even with only the fan running could you stand to be in the room. The beds are very uncomfortable, and my room was crawling with ants. The key card for the room only worked every other time, so be prepared to go to the reception a lot to have the keycard updated. I would not go back here and would prefer a hostel over this hotel. "
