"It was fantastic. We stayed 3 nights, but would have loved to stay longer. The hosts are incredibly kind and welcoming. The chef at the place is amazing and very kind as well. Therefore we strongly recommend eating dinner at the guesthouse. At last the room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view."

"Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast. There are barking dogs in the neighbourhood that might affect your night sleep. Room keys need to be left to the reception in the morning for the cleaners to use so it might be of inconvenience when you plan your day."

"A lovely, small guest house, with great hosts and staff and easy access to the beach. There is one good restaurant, which is open 6 days of the week, and other dining options are at a Fried chicken take away and a burger shop/cafe. "

"1st night no hot water. Geyser didn’t work. Aircons don’t work. Cockroaches in room. No soaps, shampoo, etc. They don’t accept cards and only told me this when I wanted to settle my bill the night prior to check out. The owner insisted on me walking almost 2km to go withdraw cash at 9pm. Which was a major inconvenience. I will never stay there again. NEVER!!!"

"Chambre petite, ne correspondant pas avec les photos sur le site, mauvaises odeurs quand on rentre dans la chambre, odeurs de canalisations de WC dans la salle de douche ; avons changé 3 fois de chambre durant notre séjour (5 nuits), fuites d'eau dans la 2ème chambre et problème d'évacuation d'eau dans la 3ème ! Il était vraiment temps que nous partions ! Des travaux urgents de rénovation nous semblent plus que nécessaire pour coller au standing et à l'accueil de cet endroit ! "

"I don't normally write reviews, let alone negative ones, but if I can save someone from experiencing this place, it's worth it. The pictures definitely don't match the listing. When we arrived, we were greeted outside the property by approximately 20 different neighborhood dogs that not only barked loudly then, but continued throughout the entire night. The bed was filthy. "We went to le gite de bonheur for 3 nights as a young couple and loved the atmosphere, the cosiness and tidyness. The hosts are very friendly, caring and give you advice what to visit in Mauritius. This was a perfect place to discover the black river region of the island."
