Un vrai petit châlet dans un coin paisible, même si il fallait monter tout en haut d'une colline, c'était vraiment un cadre exceptionnel. On pouvait presque croire que nous étions dans les Alpes françaises, haha

"Really old school place, we had it to our selves for our three nights. The breakfast is worth it. The Onsen is fairly dated and there are some places that would require removing the cobwebs."

Do not forget to take advantage of on of the volunteer guides free of charge if you visit the castle. The hotel has a nice onsen on the top floor, take advantage of that too. It has a free sauna as well. Staff is very helpful and speak quite good English for this type of hotel. Excellent value for money."

This place has aged well, rooms are spacious, there is a private onsen on the top floor for 40min usage, and there are a couple of great restaurants 10mins walking distance around. Lawson out the front. Staff were excellent. Only stayed 1 night but would go back. Great if you have a car."

"This is a very well maintained traditional hot spring inn. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The baths were wonderful after a long day of sightseeing. We opted for the breakfast which was excellent. Highly recommend if you want a taste of traditional Japan. Matsumoto castle was beautiful and we happened to hit a day when there was a local beer festival."

"Very nice business hotel. Better than expected. Located next to the station and only 1k from the castle. They also have much larger rooms for a small extra fee. We could even ship our luggage from the hotel to Kyoto (2 days).. Always coffee and tea. Okay breakfast, mostly Japanese but also many kinds of tasty bread. "
