"Lovely trip to Hakuba with the family staying at the footstep of the Iwatake slopes. The snow was on and my family and I had a great time. The cottage is lovely, something you would imagine staying at in the snow or by a lake. Has everything you need in it, from the kitchen to the bathroom. "15-min walk to the main terminal for buses to ski slopes. Accommodation was a bit dated. Comfortable but nothing special. The toilet smelled bad no matter how many times we cleaned it. There was sufficient space for 3 large adults; would have been tight for 4 and too cramped for 5. Friendly staff who were more than happy to transfer us to/from the station and willing to help and provide information. Overall average accommodation."

"Our stay here was surprisingly enjoyable. Despite the rave reviews online, our first impression of the hotel was not stellar. It looked quite dated, the room was a bit dark and tiny, the mattress a bit stained etc. However, once we got settled in, discovered the facilities, including the rooftop outdoor onsen, free ramen, ice cream etc. we actually thought it was a very cozy and well-located place to stay for our stay in Matsumoto. I would say that the price maybe didn't correspond to the standard of the place, but overall fine. "
